The Lost City of Nudeg Kell - Level One

ADD TO WISHLIST >

In centuries past, Nudeg Kell was a duergar stronghold of great importance and wealth. Slaves passed through its gates like a flowing river, fueling the industry below.

Many things have changed since thos days of glory. The gates lie broken, and the undead have claimed them. The people of Nudeg Kell are dead, or living in destitution and fear, while the king and his family exist eternally in the halls and crypts in the deepest parts of the earth.

It is into this terrible place you descend, to forge alliances, kill unclean creatures, or die in a forgotten hole, never to be remembered...

The Lost City of Nudeg Kell is a complete duergar stronghold that you can slot into your campaign world as you see fit. With cartography by Dyson's Logos, detailed locations and NPCs, brand new creatures and enemies, and plot hooks galore, the city is easily able to fit into any campaign setting.

Note: While the entirety of Nudeg Kell is drafted, it has not yet been typed up and laid out. As such, this product currently only consists of the first level. The other four levels will be added over time, at no extra cost, so keep an eye out!

That's a good question! Honestly, I designed the place without a specific level in mind. It's originally designed to be a location for players to meet and interact with a fairly unique culture (something that should become more apparent as each level is added). For a dungeon crawl, however, I'd suggest around level 10.

This is, in hindsight, something I absolutely should have looked at more, so I'll make sure future levels are a bit more geared towards a specific level. That said, I'm planning on running a 7th level party through this, so it'll hopefully have some flexibility.

Finally, sorry this reply has taken so long. The arrival of my firstborn knocked many of my responsibilities for six. I'm getting back up to speed now, though, so the next few levels should start appearing soon!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
