Changelog

v1.1

  • Crusader
    • Furious Counterstrike no longer applies to attack rolls, and caps at +6 at 20th level (instead of +5)
    • Reworked the Knight Training class feature in the Knight subclass. Stances and strikes now use the same resource, called knight points, instead of separate resources (stance and strike points). With separate resources, the Knight had too much versatility and too many uses of its strikes and stances.
    • The Knight's Swift Strike option now requires a bonus action.
  • Valkyrie
    • Marked For Death no longer requires your reaction to reduce damage
  • Feats
    • Master Thrower: reworked the second and third benefits for the purposes of flavor and balance
  • Equipment
    • Clarified wording for the Buckler shield

Hello, First off I really like the material this provides! Now I did have a question, on page 75 under the shortsword where the variant rules are it repeats the gladious variant rules. I am assuming that is a typo and was wondering what was supposed to go there if anything.(cross referencing the chart on the previous page it doesn't look like it should)

Hey Bryce,

You are correct; it's a typo! It is supposed to say "shortsword" instead of "gladius" there under shortsword.

Hey Connor, I have a follow up question to this:

Under the gladius, it says that it has the special property but no special ability was listed. Only the Variant Rule. Was the V.R. meant to be the Special or is there something missng?

Hey Matthew,
Yes, the variant rule was originally a special property, and I must have forgotten to take out the Special property.

Is it possible for you to decrease the file size? It's over 200mb and my ipad has trouble running it (as well as storage problem).

Hi Thomas,

Unfortunately that is a major drawback of the editor that I use. Learning a whole new program would take a lot of time that I don't have, so right now decreasing the file size isn't an option. I apologize for any inconvenience that causes. You might try uploading it to a personal google drive folder so that it doesn't take up storage on your device. I've found that these files actually load better on my mobile devices when I load them from a cloud.

Hey Cassiel!

Thank you! Unfortunately there are no plans for such a version, as I am unfamiliar with Fantasy Grounds. However, if someone else more familiar with that software were to approach me with an offer, then you could expect to see a FG version.

Great! I hope someone then contacts you, like Rob Towy or one of those guys. Another question, do you have any plans for making it a POD too. It´s just that this is one of those books I really really want at my table xD. I 've been wanting to play more low fantasy stories with 5e and this product right here is just perfect for that. The only thing I think could make this book from perfect to just plain incredible is a spell-less support class inspired from the bard like the Warden from Aime or more rogue subclasses that go around the idea of entertainers and storytellers.

Still, this product has really drawn me back to 5e for at least a couple of more years I believe. So thank you for that. I´ll be looking forward to any other books you make for sure. Especially if its more martial goodness like this one!

Hey Cassiel,

I've spoken with Trevor and a FG version is in the works. I don't know exactly how long it will take to come out, but keep an eye out for it!

A friend has just gotten this and is excited to use it in our next campaign.
I had a peek at it and have a few questions, though one in particular is more important to my character idea.

The spell Terraform allows you to change the elevation of an area of land, starting at Chasm/Canyon and ending at Mountain Peak.
My first question is: Would an area of ocean/sea count as Chasm/Canyon for the purposes of changing elevation. Or, in other words, could this spell be used to create a small island (or chain of islands) with enough uses?
Secondly, The 4th Terrain Option is Grassland, yet the spell description states it does not create flora or fauna. How would this work when changing the nature of terrain? Would grass sprout from the earth, or perhaps the soil becomes fertile enough to support it, but might otherwise remain barren soil?

Hey Daniel,

Good questions! I'm in the process of reworking the Elevation section of Terraform because it doesn't perform exactly as I would like, but for now some answers should (hopefully) suffice. First, yes you could use the spell to create islands by raising the elevation of the sea floor. Second, the spell doesn't create flora or fauna, but the soil becomes fertile enough to support it, and flora naturally grows there over the next weeks and months. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your support!

Cheers for the response!
My follow on question would be would that segment of the spell description read something like "flora and fauna may appear over time at the DMs discretion, as may be natural to the environment."
Because an island (or series of islands like I plan for) might have a little difficulty suddenly acquiring game animals and crops from nowhere, rather than having them introduced via trade or magic.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
