art 005 - Symbols for Deities of Faerun : 39 Faerûnian Deity icons

ADD TO WISHLIST >

These 39 Deity symbols/artworks that range in complexity between symbolic and detailed imagery have been created to be used both for personal and professional applications by others. Each icon is representational of one noteworthy deity of Faerûn. Some artistic liberty was taken on each of these pieces, as even though I adhered to the ideas/concepts behind their intended iconographic appearances, they all vary from previously created artworks representing the same Faerûnian deities. This was entirely necessary as it would be a copyright infringement to do otherwise. Although each icon is meant to be stand alone, I have created two distinct groups for them: those with a foreground-containing element (be it circle, triangle, round shape, or other) and those without. Regardless, they have all been provided in a transparent png format in a largish size (having a canvas size of 8.5 x 11 and the icons fitting however they may within.) If a larger size is required, please leave a comment below with specifics (name of the specific png file with dimensional requirements) so that I can create what you need and add it to the relevant bundle. A group image preview is provided for each of the 4 sets of these icons so that you might see in a smaller size what exactly you can get with the purchase of any given set. If enough packs of 39 deities are sold, I plan on creating more deity symbols. I plan for these new icons to cover some of the other deities from other races of Faerûn such as orc, elf, dwarf, and gnome.

I would be keen to buy his pack except for a couple of things. Firstly, the symbol for Tymora isn't right. That god's symbol is noted as being a shining, featureless disc of silver. The picture in the "Faiths and Avatars" sourcebook gives a decent representation of this but at the very least, the disc shouldn't be golden in color. Secondly, is there any reason why the Waukeen symbol is displayed semi-flat and with writing on the disc as to who the god is? If it was a simple upright gold disc with the female face of the goddess, that would be perfect. Those nitpicks aside, I think your work is great.

CREATOR
Hey there, George K. Thanks for your comment and interest (as well as compliment)! Out of curiosity, what edition of D&D do you play? I just uploaded new versions of Tymora's and Waukeen's coins minus any text upon the coins themselves: One plain silver coin upward facing, one silver coin with Tymora's face surrounded by shamrocks also facing upwards and an upright standing version of Waukeen's gold coin without perspective distortions. If you are a member of Dungeon Masters Guild Creator's Circle, Homebrew Dungeons and Dragons 5e, or any other facebook group where you may have seen this post, I will now take screenshots and put them up those posts in order to convey the changes for your convenience. Have a great weekend!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
