Juiblexian Race - Slimes Just Want to Adventure

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Behold the Juiblexian, a race of sentient oozes inspired your favorite oozes and slimes such as gelatinous cubes, black puddings, the oblex (Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes), and even living spells from Eberron

You get three subraces and four racial feats

  • Corrosive - inspired by gelatinous cubes, this juiblexian is cursed to dissolve matter
  • Blasphemy - inspired by living spells (which are oozes) from Eberron, these elementally charged oozes seek to devour all energy in the cosmos
  • Mnemonic - inspired by the oblex and other similar sentient slimes, these consume personalities and minds & mimic humanoids the best

Whether as a part of some demonic design from their namesake, the demon lord Juiblex, or some great evolutionary design, the juiblexians gained sentience. From there, they seek to follow their destiny or heed the call of their inner natures. They will strive to understand their surroundings, just like their primal nature, they will consume every new experience to grow further than their mindless cousins.

There's a typo on the Elemental Chaos table: It's displaying Electricity and Lightning Damage which are basically the same. I suggest getting rid of Electricity and then remove Poison because you're already immune to poison and then just make the table a D6 roll.

I purchased this and I am about to start running a Juiblexian Celestial Warlock in a Curse of Strahd campaign. The only thing I wished for was that there was an explicit description about what constraints there are using ooze form. For example, if my character started life as a gelatinous cube, can it return to gelatinous cube shape? Or has it lost that ability? A gelatinous cube is a Large creature, could it become a Medium size gelatinous cube?

But I just wanted to say that I love this, as it has let me run one of my two dream monster characters! I am very appreciative!

I'm curious, why Charisma for Blasphemy and Intelligence for Mnemonic? Seems like it would be the other way around (since Blasphemy has innate spellcasting and Mnemonic is closer to accurately mimicking a humanoid).

Great little race option, though. My friend's been wanting to run a slime, so thanks.

I really like your product! Just wanted to let you know there are two minor mistakes in it.
1) In the Slime Shot description: "As an action, you can [missing word] a ranged attack at a creature you can see within 30 feet."
2) Also under Slime Shot: it says "Corrosive Touch" but the feature is named as "Caustic Touch" on page 3.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
