Guide to Possession

Guide to Possession

A sudden jolt of electricity courses through the rogues palm as he lifts the goblet from the altar, a carousing reveler is bumped by a stranger hidden beneath a heavy cowl who suddenly disappears, a troubled teen has forced the church to send an Inquisitor to investigate if they have been taken over by a demonic force...

Guide to Possession presents 5E options on how to incorporate unwanted guests into your campaign. Within its possessed pages you will find:

  • Rules and mechanics for how to incorporate fiendish, fey, elemental, celestial and undead possessions adaptable to any of their base creature types
  • Unique options for each of the creature types that allow humanoid, beast, celestial, construct and object possessions as well as ghostly haunts- areas infected with undead essences
  • Tactics, strategies and favorite possession techniques for each of the different types of possessing agents
  • Tables for creating monstrous encounters designed around possessed individuals, along with lingering traits and effects for those possessed
  • Historical lore to add inspiration and flavor to possessions in your campaigns
  • Roleplaying tips on how to incorporate possessed NPCs and player characters along with tactics for prevention, identification, expulsion and summoning
  • Guidance on spells and tactics that are useful in running possessions successfully in your campaign, including an Exorcism mechanic
  • A handful of new player Feats that allow certain characters to possess others or expel those forces capable of the act
  • A handful of new spells and uncommon magic items useful in campaigns where possessions and exorcisms are the norm

If you're curious and looking for ways to incorporate possessions into your game, beyond a  simple spell or two, the Guide to Possession has what you're looking for.

Is it possible to see a table of contents for the book

Hi- the Table of Contents would be sparse as most of the guide is broken into tables and sidebars for options and spells and items.

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
