An original Ravenloft domain for 5th edition, containing:

  • A 13 chapter adventure of lovecraftian sleuthing, unknowable truths and eldritch mystery for levels 15-20. The City of Eyes is a memorable Tier 4 adventure designed to challenge the mightiest of mortal characters.

  • Fortunes of Ravenloft fully integrated with the 54 card Tarroka deck (available from Gale Force Nine separately) or a standard deck of cards to determine key aspects of the adventure, and provide a different experience with each playthrough, [as seen in Curse of Strahd].

  • Many fully mapped out locations, seeded with terrible truths, ghastly discoveries, and lamentable interior decoration

  • Many random tables split over several chapters and ten appendices for generating domain-specific encounters, madnesses, clues, wild magic and more.

  • Spells, races, and backgrounds unique to Elysium

  • An armory of sinister magical items with which to face the darkness

  • A host of cryptic allies, adversaries and monsters suited to a waterlogged hell

  • Secrets buried in the adventure itself...for those with the eyes to see them.

OmuLGil.png

You want this adventure if:

  • Your players love a mystery, and theorycrafting possibilities
  • You enjoy roleplaying strange quirks, and don't mind going a little bananas
  • You want to answer any questions with an arch stare and the word "perhaps"
  • You like roleplaying aberrations, monstrosities, and subtle manipulators
  • You appreciate the merits of a good tragedy (in the Shakespearean sense of the word)
  • Your players think that level 15+ characters are invincible, and you want to ruin a few friendships whilst also harshly disabusing them of that notion

It appears to have been taken down either by the original author or DMsGuild.

No way that I know of. You would need to contact the original author Oliver Clegg. We just convert products for Fantasy Grounds that the authors have requested us to. We cannot distribute the original PDFs.

Frankly, it makes no sense to refuse answering general questions here. It would make the answers immediately visible to all who are interested in the same thing. Compatibility with FG Unity and LOS functionality are crucial information when considering a $30 purchase.

We have established a Discord for the EXPRESS PURPOSE of customer support on our 350+ DMs Guild items where we prefer to have discussions. It’s obvious that if a simple question were asked that required a yes or no, one time answer, it would make sense to do it here, but we prefer CONVERSATIONS (back and forth) to not “clog up” the comments section. It’s both our preference and default position. Thanks for understanding.

HOLD UP... Are we missing an entire map?? Where is the Temple of the Gaunt Silhouette maps that have multiple encounters in the story but no map at all? And I have to go find maps for all the random city encounters too...? What is going on with this product?

This product tries to be a faithful Fantasy Grounds module reproduction of the original PDF. In the original PDF there were no maps provided for the Temple of the Gaunt Silhouette or random city encounters. Where there are errors, I will attempt to fix them, but I do not create new maps or material for them. If you would like a map for those areas, I would suggest you request them from the original author on the link to the PDF above.

READ BEFORE PURCHASING: I purchased this version of the campaign and was reading through the story files since I didn't have the PDF and read about a creature called a Brownie. It sounded interesting and I was really excited to see either a new creature stat block or even an older edition converted to 5e. Regretfully, I recognized the creature was simply a Boggle renamed as something new but this discovery led to finding a real issue that became all too apparent... all of the NPCs and monsters that you would add to the maps (which are beautiful and I give complete credit to Oliver Clegg and deathbybadger) use only the generic Letter Tokens.

I understand that might have been the case for content that is previously copyrighted or came from published content like Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes but for brand new monsters and NPCs that have unique art and images that come in this adventure exclusively (or taken from previous editions), I don't understand why those are missing tokens (i.e. Dr. Brains, Groblets,...See more

Thank you for the comments. The tokens and asylum fourth floor pins were an oversight. I will be publishing an update soon with those fixed. In adherence with copyright law, I can only include tokens/artwork that is contained within the PDF, so any creatures referenced that do not have accompanying artwork within the PDF will use the generic letter tokens.

While you are fixing things and creating an update, She Who Wails NPC is missing most of her spells (6/7) so it issues a "Spell lookup failure." And how is it possible there are no quests when most of the game you are trying to solve the riddle of what the heck is going on in the city since no one will be upfront and tell you? Am I missing something there?

With the images/tokens, what is the difference between custom art, using 5e art for monsters and renaming monsters so you can use art from 4e monster manuals?

An update with the fixed NPC will be pushed. The issue of copyright law and licensing is very complex. For more information, you can check out the DMsGuild Creator FAQ.

You will need to fix your mummy NPCs since the Custodians used in The Mausoleum specifically say that they are mummies without the vulnerability to fire damage and since this is FG, it would be nice to add the appropriate languages of Common and Celestial in there as well... languages are missing all over the place.

I purchased the VVT version and it looks great! Do I have to purchase the addition pdf, another 19.99, so I can read through on the fly? Seems like would come with it?

Hi, im very intrested in this. Are the maps just compatible with VTT or can they be projected on a tv? We play with digital maps but dont use Roll 20 or anything like that.

Mario. This is for Fantasy Grounds. The maps can be used as you wish by using FG to project to a tv instead of a pc/laptop. It’s not the way it’s meant to be used, but many people do it. For more info on how I would check the FG forums.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
