Hey sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but are the other solo adventures going to be getting a physical release like Death Knights Squire and is there an ETA on when that may happen?
I already own all the PDFs but i only have a black and white printer so my makeshift copies aren't the best of quality.
Thanks in advance

Forgive me for posting here, I'm quite new to the site and haven't been able to find a way to message the Creator/Author directly.

On a personal note, as a disabled individual, part of which is agoraphobia, finding a game is nearly impossible for me, and having just recently discovered these books, it's been a boon of "what can I do with these, oh this is going to be exciting!"
I quickly purchased Toolbox 1 & 2 and Adventure 1, Death Knight's Squire. See, I'm old school... In however many years they've existed, I've never gotten used to accustomed to using digital books in any way as a medium. (I know, I really should but it just seems "weird", I dunno, I can't explain it, maybe I'm just too old these days, lmao.)

As you can see from my list, the ones I purchased were all the "combo" packs of pdf and print, and in honesty, have yet to even really mess with the pdfs

I guess my questions here are 2 fold:
1. What is it that makes...See more

Hey Daniel!
Firstly, thank you for the support. I hope you get use out of these products, and hopefully, many hours of gaming fun.
Second... what makes a book available in print format. Well, basically, they need to reach platinum bestseller status. Which takes a while. I guess whether or not to wait for that to happen is up to the individual.
To answer your second question, perhaps the answer for you is indeed to get the products printed, which you have my absolute permission to do. This might circumvent the whole pdf noob thing you mention!
To really make the most of pdfs, it kind of is necessary to do a bit of learning. If you're using Mac, the free Preview application should enable you to access most of the functionality via the view/table of contents option. There might be other free pdf viewers available that enable functionality. But yes, all my products were created with Adobe Acrobat Pro in mind. Acrobat Reader, however (which is free) should give you everything you need.

Thanks so much for your reply!
It actually makes sense that it's a sales threshold kinda thing, but at the same time, I was wondering it it's print on demand, so to speak, why not print more, but I imagine the library is massive. (Though it does lend to the "have pdf, why print scenario) which may never get something to print, or at least not many things.
Regardless, it's good to know the "rules" as it were. Much appreciated, and on that note, Congrats on having so many of your works in the "Can be Printed" category! (In truth, after learning of a few solo D&D things, investigating yours, and then seeing the combo options, is what made my decision to give em a go. I also figured that using one of your adventures as a way to learn the system is likely helpful.
Of course the upside to me learning the pdf style makes me 1 more number in the "to get printed" list and can always get print later if needed/wanted.
On that note, any particular works you'd...See more

Hi Joshua.
There is only one complete map, and that is for Death Knight's Squire. It is downloadable here:

Finally pulled the trigger on this, but had to do some house cleaning with the files, so figured I’d offer some feedback.

For the stories themselves, I’d love if the intro on each started with, in bold, “this is the 1st/2nd/3rd/etc book in the series,” to make it clear off the bat. This would provide a consistent experience across the series for readers.

I ended up renaming the files for the stories as well (e.g., “1 - The Death Knight’s Squire”). The maps booklet file got placed into the folder for the maps, and both the folder and booklet got renamed to match the style of the book title (“1 - The Death Knight’s Squire - Maps” for both). Then I put all four stories into a single folder.

The end result is a folder, aptly titled “The Death Knight’s Squire Series,” which contains four numbered files that correspond to the first four stories, and a folder for each containing the maps.

I know everyone has their own organization system,...See more

Hello Paul, is the variant flanking rule supposed to be in effect for all of the adventures? It's explicitly mentioned in one. If so, it makes the Ranger very strong, even more so if you're using Tasha's version of the beast master.

Also, I've only tried melee martial so far, any advice on running casters or ranged? It's hard to see how I would keep enemies out of my face, especially with limited spell slots.

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Dane
The flanking rule is strictly optional. Don't employ it if you feel it is game-breaking. In terms of advice for casters, I would recommend a Druid. They seem to be very versatile for solo adventures due to wildshape and healing abilities. For a ranged character, hmmm, let's see.... a rogue is the obvious choice, I would probably go with inquisitive rogue as they have the ability (not sure what level) to employ insightful fighting which enables them to get sneak attack even without allies. I hope that's helpful!

Hey Paul, i have two 9yr old sons and a 10yr old daughter, they want to play D&D and we started a campaign during Christmas break. I used Death Knight's Squire to teach my new girlfriend the basics of D&D with my daughter's PC from the campaign helping, this worked out great! of course the two boys wanted to run through DKS also, so i ran DM+1 with each of them separately.

i haven't played through Zhentyl Keep, just read the intro so far, i was thinking of running it as a campaign with all the kids together... i'm looking for spoilers though, does the red knight show up in this or later adventures? two of the kids made a pact with the red knight (the girl didn't enter the cottage or otherwise come across the red knight)

Death Knight's Squire was great, i want to roll up an half elf ranger (my favorite type to play) and run through the solo adventures myself... i'm a reluctant DM because my kids wanted to play, LOL, but i've loved playing since AD&D first came out back in the...See more

Hello, I bought the bundle and it's a good adventure, I liked the format and the narration of the book.

Since Paul is here answering questions, will the Sword of the Goddess's Wrath have some kind of continuation in the story? I got her in the first book, but I didn't feel that she was cursed nor did I have problems with the spirit that gave me the sword in the other adventures, besides she was not mentioned once in the other books. Will there be free DLC to add continuity or depth to this item? (smile face XD)

Hello,

I bought and played the first adventure (DKS) and was wondering if there was a discount on this bundle for owning it. It doesn't seem like a "bundle" like your Short Solo Adventure Bundle 1 [BUNDLE].

Thanks,

My wife and I are looking for DMless adventures that we can run together, each playing a PC. Would this work well for that? Would you suggest doubling the enemies present so combat is balanced for 2 PCs?

Doubling will work, definitely. If you wanted to fine tune the balance, check out p.82 of the Dungeon Master's Guide on small parties. I think there's a similar section in the free rules as well.

Yes absolutely. It is easy to run with a DM +1, even though it is designed to be DMless. All you would do is have the DM read the entries to the player. I would recommend the DM play the adventure themselves first, though, to get a feel for it.

I haven't made complete maps for these per se, but battlemaps for all encounters are included in the products. However, as they are set in the Forgotten Realms, large area campaign maps will often be findable with a Google search.

I was wondering if you had complete maps for Tyrant of Zhentil Keep, Citadel of the Raven, and The Tortured Land that I could load into roll20 easier? I downloaded the map for The Death Knights Squire from the comments on that page but didn't see links for the others on their appropriate pages. I absolutely love these adventures they let me play test characters before using in a campaign with friends and also allow myself to experiment with being a DM with little stress.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
