Can you endure the frozen wasteland of Icewhite Island to find the fabled Hoarfrost Flower?

Brave the cold in the third adventure of the Across Eberron: Convergence Manifesto adventure path, optimized for 2nd level characters. Written for use with either Eberron: Rising from the Last War or the Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron by Keith Baker.

Adventure Summary: Provost Nigel Faurious’s research has revealed the location of an icy spire near the eastern side of Icewhite Island. The Provost needs the Hoarfrost Flower, an artifact found inside this spire, to make his Convergence Manifesto a reality. Eager to complete his work as quickly as possible, the Provost previously paid for an expedition from the Deathsgate Guild to explore the icy spire at the same time the Clifftop Guild surveyed the Shining Valley in the last adventure. The Deathsgate expedition’s ship, the Nightwood Cask, was destroyed by the cold of the Risia manifest zone. They made it to the island on lifeboats and headed to the spire, hoping to use it as shelter until someone from the Deathsgate Guild comes to rescue them. The spire’s builders are long gone and forgotten, but their traps and magic remain. Mror archeologists once found this place while in search of their ancestors that many believe hailed from the Frostfell. Only their camp remains in the foyer of the spire, where the party from Deathsgate waits. While the Deathsgaters’ supplies dwindle, they argue among themselves on their next steps. Should they try and make it to shore and hope their ship somehow survived, continue to wait, or delve deeper into the spire to complete the task they were hired for?

Across Eberron (www.acrosseberron.com) is an Eberron community project that aims to tell the stories and exploits of heroic characters in Eberron and introduce players--new and experienced--to the wonderful lore and rich history the setting has to offer. The beginning notes of the adventure say it is optimized for a 2nd level party, but later in the adventure, it talks about one encounter being a hard fight for a 3rd level party. I'm assuming one is a typo, but which one is it? (It does feel like a particularly tough adventure for 2nd level PCs, so I'm leaning towards the former being a typo.)

It's a bit hard for me to justify the need of a sea vessel if they've already procured an airship. Any ideas?

I had the Clear Blue Sky attacked by Loshow from Perfect Timing. He sabotaged the elemental crystal and brought the ship down, then he jumped overboard, to reappear later. They walked the rest of the way to Stormhome, and then I had them procure a non-Lyrander ride (Captain Darien only agreed to take them because he likes them and Lyrander is wary of Icewhite Island). Thus, the Undeniable is, instead, captained by Thariv Brightwind, who will reappear a few more times before her face-heel turn in Weathering the Storm.

... I did a lot of rewrites to create recurring characters more often.

Yeah, that was a bit weird. (Like how in adventure 2 they have to trek westwards through the mountains for three days, then trek back eastwards for three days through a network of tunnels. Makes it seem like they were at their destination when they started.)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
