Thank you for helping us make this product the best it can be.
We look forward to your visit to our campus!

Keith, Ruty, and Co.

Eberron was born in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast launched a worldwide search for a new campaign setting.

Morgrave Miscellany is the much anticipated supplement to Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron  that comes to you by way of its co-authors Keith Baker & Ruty Rutenberg who breath more life and lore into the eponymous campaign setting now released for play with the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. This 164 page book gives you the information you need to delve deeper into your Eberron story or character. It includes an expansive deep dive of Khorvaire from the Demon Wastes to the coasts of the Lhazaar Principalities, and a plethora of intrigue and noir story hooks in between.

The purpose of this book is to provide you with additional rules and character options that let you delve deeper into the world: new subclasses & races, racial feats, new forms of dragonmarks, and more. It also provides you with the lore you need to build a deeper character and story. While this is presented in a player-focused way, these ideas should inspire DMs, as well as players. Even if no one at your table creates a barbarian or druid character, the information about the Druidic sects of the Eldeen Reaches or the concept of the supersoldier barbarians of House Vadalis could be the seedlings of a story yearning to develop its maturity.

Inside this massive tome of full color art, you get an expansion to the themes and ideas offered in the Player’s HandbookDungeon Master’s Guide and Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron.

Chapter 1 dives into the Eberron lore and player options that realign the prestige classes of Dungeons & Dragons third edition into the archetypes of fifth edition.
Chapter 2 offers a look into the Eberron’s cultures and background.
Chapter 3 is designed to offer a few resources and optional rules for players and DM’s telling stories that hold true to the classic elements of a hardboiled, high-stakes, pulp noir setting.
Chapter 4 presents some suggestions for hooks and 0-level adventuring in Eberron by way of the Gumshoe Chronicles.

Want to create and publish your own Eberron PDFs?

The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron can serve as your jumping off point to create your own monsters, adventure modules, and other tabletop content set within Eberron and put it up for sale on the Dungeon Masters Guild.

The use of the expressions "barbaric" vs "civilized" is outright offensive to many. Perhaps I missed something in the text and misinterpreted?

I agree with Sebastian P. Why not put a version number on the Copyright Page or include an errata?

Hello,
From older comment it looks like this is updated to be aligned with Exploring Eberron and Rising from the Last War. Is that the case? Just making sure, as the description above only mentions Wayfinder's Guide

Hi there,
It seems to still be the older version though I could swear the last time I downloaded it it was the updated one. Is there a way to make sure which version I got? A new sentence in the book or something else?

Query with the Druid subclass' Elder Gifts, Chillbane effect. When it says immune to poison does that mean poison damage, poisoned condition or both?

I'm waiting for this to be available as POD before I purchase it. I'll pick it up as well as Exploring Eberron.

...two years later: still no.
But there's Chronicles of Eberron (which I haven't bought yet but I presume is also top-notch quality as are all of Keith's works)

Question, for Dragonforge and their Draconic Fission feature it says, "During your creation, you
were fitted with a magical device in your maw that mimics the effects of a dragon’s breath weapon." then after that follows a list of spells you learn at various levels.

Is the begging text meant to be for flavor as in these spells are the mimic of a breath weapon or do you actually learn a breath weapon like you would as a dragonborn?

It seems to be flavor explaining why you can cast the spells. The spell on 5th level is Dragon's Breath, so that's probably the closest the Dragonforged gets to a "normal" breath weapon.

Hi! Question; for the Sovereign Domain Cleric, it doesn't show any Domain spells like Cleric Domains usually do. Is this correct? If so, why?

Hi Ruty,

The product page says you updated the product, but I'm not sure what feedback you incorporated. It looks like
- Bone Knight still doesn't reprint the dread warrior stat block or give directions to where to find it, both dmsguild-legal options for non-SRD content
- None of the design & balance issues with the other subclasses were addressed, such as with the Host Warlock
- The Siberys marks section still references Greater marks and WGtE

Is it possible you uploaded the wrong file? Could you provide a .txt of update notes so I can understand what work was done?

Yes. It seems like you grabbed the previous version, the Morgrave_Miscellany_(readable).pdf should do it.
The file should have read: Morgrave Miscellany 2020 Full-Res. I don't know why the backend worked as it did but I've removed the 2019 files and left only the updated version.

Also, we took feedback from hundreds of sources, specifically feedback left on the surveys and some of our blogger friends who review content for a living. We feel that what we were able to do reflects a balance between all of those possible opinions.
I'd also like to add that my incredible team impressed the hell out of me during a crazy pandemic, finding time to get this out there for all of you, while dealing with everything else like everyone else. If you appreciate their effort too, please don't hesitate to give them a shout out.

Hi Ruty, I may be missing something, but I just downloaded the Morgrave_Miscellany_(readable).pdf, and I am not sure if it is reflects the changes Joseph is inquiring about. For example, I looked at the Bone Knight section, p.41, and it looks the same as the old version in that there is no reprint of the dread warrior stat block or a reference to it.

And, yes, I want to thank you and your team for working so hard under difficult circumstances to update this supplement. I wish all of you the best.

I've noticed the issue with Dread Warrior too.

FYI, per a quick search of my D&D Beyond monster compendium (I've bought all the sourcebooks digitally), the stat block for Dread Warrior can be found in "Dead in Thay" - printed in Tales from the Yawning Portal.

Ruty, would it hurt to make a small edit even just to reference the sourcebook, if you can't legally reprint the statblock? Alternatively, is there a different undead creature that can be referenced from the Monster Manual that we can assume all D&D games using MorMisc are also using?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
