There is a house at the end of the lane.
The house appears to have been well made and is still in good shape but the windows and doors are shuttered and it looks as if no one has lived there for some time. The adults don't go near it, saying it's dangerous and cursed. Children tell you it's haunted and so scary even the wildlife stays away. But something is stirring inside the house, and the locals would be much relieved if you could have a look.
Just…be careful.

This adventure was originally designed for D&D 5e but can be adapted to any system. It is designed to be played at any level, with suggestions for creatures and skill challenges to use to tailor it to your players.
This adventure has many puzzles to solve and scary moments to startle your players, as well as a sad story to tug at their heartstrings.

Contained within are descriptions, instructions and suggestions for the game master, and two maps for both floors of the house.

This is nice but, it is not very printer friendly. Needs to be done in grayscale or black & white. Still, I like. Well done.

A printer-friendly version is a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. I can make one, should I still include the images?

Yes, please. In either black and white or in grayscale. The thing that makes printing SO expensive is having the paper have that parchment look to it. On screen, it looks awesome. When printing it, it empties my yellow ink quickly. Still, you've done a great job. Well done!

Thank you! I just updated it with a printer-friendly version, I hope that works out!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
