About Baldman Games

Baldman Games are gamers, DMs, and writers, who love D&D. We’ve been running shows since 2001 starting with small regional shows in NE Ohio (All Americon & MVC) and grew quickly to adding Origins in 2004 and Winter Fantasy/DDXP & Gencon in 2005. We added organized play to our plate in 2011 with Ashes of Athas – our in-house Dark Sun campaign. In 2014 we added PAX Prime to our plate and have expanded upon that in 2015. And in 2018, we introduced Season of the Rising Shadows for the Adventurer’s League, a series of adventurers set in the Moonshae Islands.

Question about the farmstead. What does "This is a T1 property," mean? Do you not own it anymore when you leave T1?

I got to play this a few months ago and DMed it last week at my FLGS' game day. Really enjoyed this adventure both times. There is enough information to really set a creepy mood. Players were jumpy. I had my entire table searching for the source of the slammed door at the farmhouse (it's the wind). They skulks make for devastating Tier 1 foes before players catch onto what's going on. The puzzle is just enough to be interesting without stopping game flow. There're few opportunities for RP with NPCs. Usually this lack is because RP is left as an afterthought, but it really made sense for this setting.

As I am planning to run this module on the Thursday, I have a question for authors - would there be a nice Moonshae-style logsheet, as it was for MOON 2-1? My players liked it very much and I hoped to give them a new list after any new Moonshae game.

The log sheet and art/map pack are now available and should be in your library. Thank you so much for supporting the adventure! I hope you and your players thoroughly enjoy the playthrough on Thursday!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
