Rise of the Necromancer is a beginners quest for D&D 5e players and DM's offering a descriptive setting and an easy to follow quest with some unique twists and game features I decided to implement to add another layer of gaming to an already amazing RPG. I have intended it for new DM's and players starting out up to Level 5 although the difficulty can be modified to compensate as seen fit.

Any critisism is welcome and i hope you enjoy the content.

Download size = 41.3mb

I intend to add to this story - leaving the ending open to more sequals and branching into something (i hope will be) spectacular.

see the sequal - The underling's Awakening https://www.dmsguild.com/product/269090/The-Underlings-Awakening

Hey, im a new DM with mostly new players, when it says i should start characters up to level 5, would it be wise to make new level 1 characters with my players or should we start closer to 5?

Hi thanks for asking. This adventure can be done with level 1 characters onwards (in fact I would recommend doing so if you are new to D&D) If your players do unfortunately get defeated then simply re start with your level 1 characters and try again). This game takes some practice and a bit of patience from the DM but its a learning experience for us all. I personally as DM have "fudged" the numbers to allow the final strike to hit its mark etc but dont let the players know that. Its all about the fun but if its a challenge - then it makes it more exciting/rewarding. I wrote this adventure as i personally love the story telling aspect and i know other adventures on this site can sometimes lack setting the scene. This gives more work for us DM's as you have to draw the players in and get on with the job at hand. Hope you enjoy your first trip into D&D and make sure to have fun!

And on a side note: Level 1 characters are EXTREMELY fragile. No one would knock you down for letting players level up to level 2 before the boss fight so make sure your players look into what upgrades they will be taking when they do level up before starting the boss fight as it can take some time for everyone to learn how to level up properly. Keep the Player handbook by your side and just go through with them all so they know what theyre doing.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
