Totem of the Leopard - New Option for Path of the Totem Warrior Barbarians

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Totem of the Leopard is a new spirit animal option to complement those in the Player's Handbook (bear, eagle, wolf) and the Sword Coast Adventurer's guide (elk, tiger).

This powerful new path harnesses the agility and stealth of the leopard to give your barbarian a savage edge in battle.

Supplement includes:

  • New class abilities. New Totem Spirit, Aspect of the Beast and Totemic Attunement abilities for leopard totem warriors

  • Totemic variant rules for black panthers and snow leopards

  • Totem shape. New ritual-dependent, optional rule for all Path of the Totem Warrior barbarians.

  • Totem traits. A list of leopard-like character traits to help inspire roleplaying

  • Totem feats. Nine new totem-specific feats available to customise your leopard powers (Alpine Leaper, Deadly Predator, Eye of the Hunter, Fast Claws, Feline Evasion, Lone Survivor, Nine Lives, Razor Reflexes, The Black Queen).

  • Barbaric magic items. Six new thematic magic items.

  • Animal knowledge. Facts and figures about leopards to inspire your interpretation of this totem path.

  • Leopard stat block. To be used for Totem Shape optional rule.

  • Original cover art by Brian Brinlee.

This supplement was checked for mechanical and balance issues by three additional consultant DMs. The concept was to bring a viable new option to the Path of the Totem Warrior, with plenty of flavour, without overshadowing the options already presented in the Player's Handbook.

Thanks for this - it's great; exactly what I'd been looking for, for my Barbarian whose backstory I'd already written.

One suggestion: It might be worth publishing a single "Totems of the Big Cats"? Combining Lion, Cheetah & Leopard (as well as, perhaps, an updated version of Tiger to fit into this framework?) It'd be great to have the whole set in a single file! [For the appropriately increased cost, of course!]

Just uploaded a version 1.1 with revised Deadly Predator feat and tweaked Razor Reflexes feat. If anyone has any problems with the mechanics or interpreting the mechanics, you can drop your question here and I'll be very glad to help.

Heya, something about the way you exported the PDF for the v1.1 has more than trebled the size of the doc. Do you know what it is, and could you produce one with that fixed, back to ~25MB ?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
