DDAL00-08 Layers Upon Layers

At long last, the first of my Admin Only Adventures is up on the DM's Guild. I'm kicking it off with 2018's offering, DDAO-19 Layers Upon Layers!

During the liberation of Szith Morcane, the factions found an unlikely friend in an agent of evil. Now, that alliance has been put to the test—and the factions are in search of souls brave (or foolish) enough to venture to the mysterious depths of the Feywild in order to uphold their end of the alliance! Grab your planar forks—there’s adventuring to be done!

A Four-Hour Adventure for 1st-10th Level Characters.

I'm considering some stretch goals here such as Bonus Objectives and a .mod file. Spread the word!

Silver reached! Bonus Objective A AND B both available! Next addition at Electrum!

Travis, what a wonderful read! Going to play this in my FLGS two weeks from now :)
Does this count towards the current-season count (given that it was officially published during season 8), or it slide under that reward as it is really an older module just being released into the wild now? //Casper

Released as season agnostic, so it's not a season 8 story for First Timer reward.

Do the bonus objectives award checkpoints, or just the consumables?

Never mind, I just need to read more thoroughly.

No worries. This one was a bit different in that the Bonus Objectives were added after the fact, so they've got their own reward entries. Perhaps adding them to the main adventure would be appropriate?

I had glossed over where it was the text, not expecting the ACP/TCP to be mentioned at the beginning of the bonus adventure text and had initially looked for it at the end with the rest of the treasure and rewards.

I do have another question: it says that all six members of the Goldstar Company are at the table, but there are only five members described by Darathra. Is this an error, or is a representation of Fen supposed to be there as well? I ran it as there was an illusion of Fen which went through the motions of eating, but was unresponsive to anyone.

Yeah, should be just five. I think the sixth was referring to <INSERT NAME OF MYSTERY NPC> but that still wouldn't be correct.

"Memory Loss. The characters must make a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw at the end of hour spent in the Feywild." -pg11
should this be each hour or after the first hour?

"Any spell that can end a curse can restore the creature's lost memories, but physical of the Feywild are permanent." - pg11
Should this read the fey touched features are permanent instead of physical of the feywild?

1. At the end of every hour spent. So at the end of the first hour, the characters would make a Wisdom check. In looking at the adventure, the passage of time isn't as clear once the characters are in the Feywild isn't as I'd like it to be. I'll provide some revisions here.

2. Correct. The results of the fey touched features table are permanent. I'll clarify this.

Changed it to the end of a rest. Given that the characters wander the Feywild for a day and a half, this would ensure at least one roll. This may see an increase if bonus objectives are added down the road.

Is it permanent as in until dispelled? If so, what is the DC?
Or permanent as in only Wish can deal with your hair?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
