Do you still have plans on releasing The Scaled Kingdoms, The Points of Light, and The Forgotten Folk books of your "Backgrounds of Faerûn" line in the future?

The plan was always to return to the series and finish it off as one book... collaborations keep coming up and the chance to work with others is alluring.

So yes, there are plans!

What was your design intent when you lowered the walking speed for some of these races? In my head cannon, these are natives of the sea who don't spend much if any time on the surface. Great resource for my seros campaign.

Ok so first, thank you for purchasing this product! Second, do know that it was created before WOTC has refined the movement speed process. I think it'd be more than fair to just put all these races with a 30 foot walk/swim speed to match WOTC design. Adjust any "leap" feature to match that distance. But if you'd like to know the reasons, I included them below:

Reasoning:
* For the bullywug it was that they're awkward on land, but combined with their leap and their homes which often feature difficult terrain, they're really not hindered by a slightly slower speed.

* The Grung was because they're smaller. Just as simple as that.

* The Koalinth don't have a slower speed, so that's fine.

* The Locathah have such strong swimming, the lowered walk speed was largely a balance thing.

* Merfolk was just using merfolk from the base game.

* Pahari was a conversion thing, they literally had 0 ft movement in earlier editions...See more

Thanks for the reply! I'll have you know that my players gain a lot of inspiration from this resource (a sahuagin, pahari and bullywug specifically). I appreciate your work!

Sadko - Ilya Repin, public domain artwork is a huge boon for this community if you know where to look. Not only does it give us really evocative covers, it also helps people find new and interesting artwork!

Great product! Just a note, the first paragraph in the Sahuagin entry seems like it doesn't belong. Might want to note that for when you make the next update. Thanks!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
