Treasures of the Sea

A treasure trove of items for seafaring adventurers

Adventures on — or even under! — the high seas present Dungeon Masters and players alike with opportunities to explore an alien world without venturing too far from home. This collection of sea-themed magic items is equal parts conversion from Stormwrack, a supplement for the 3rd edition of Dungeons & Dragons, and original works. I hope they find a place in the next sunken hoard or pirate cargo hold in your game.

Included are 32 magic items: 5 armors and shields, 9 weapons, 3 rings, 2 rods and staffs, and 13 wondrous items.

Comicbook.com says "All of the magic items found in Treasures of the Sea look quite useful!"

Changelog

  • Version 1.1: Corrected the electric eel hide to correctly show when it regains charges.
  • Version 1.2: Added recharge condition for the life preserver ring, thanks Martin D.!

PURCHASER
Hey there! I bought your supplement for my next campaign and must say that it's really well done! I'm really looking forward to using the items.

I'm a bit confused as to how often is the Life Preserver Ring allowed to be used, it doesn't state anything about charges of "after a short or long rest". I thought it might be an error.

Also, is there a chance you could provide a text version of the document? Not being able to copy things is a bit annoying, mostly when I have to translate everything.

Thanks and keep it up!

CREATOR
Hey Martin!

First, thanks so much for your patronage and words of encouragement. It is truly what keeps indie developers chugging along.

You're absolutely correct that the life preserver ring didn't have a recharge condition. It should be after the wearer finishes a long rest. I added that in and uploaded an updated PDF.

I had not considered the need for a plain text version, but I definitely see how this could be useful, especially for tables that like to add things into VTTs or other digital campaign managers. I have uploaded a .docx file that only contains the magic item text (no sidebars, stat blocks, or other non-item text).

Thanks for these thoughtful comments. None of us in the creator community are perfect, and discussions like this help us grow and create more user-focused products. At the risk of sounding like a clickbait YouTube video, if you feel compelled to leave a review, it helps immensely.

Good luck on your next adventure!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
