Leverage: Waterdeep - "Waste Not, Want Not"

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Trollskull Manor stinks. With its sewage system impossibly clogged, you don’t have the gold to pay the Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild for its repair — to say nothing of the fines that you’re wracking up daily.

The only spot of luck in a terrible week is that a journeyman plumber has his own problem that you are uniquely suited to resolve. His nephew is convinced that he poisoned a pastry shop’s dough with sewage — a crime that he couldn’t have committed. The plumber is willing to snake the tavern and clear up any misunderstanding with the magisters if you can break his nephew out of the Master Bakers’ Hall.

In Waterdeep, they caution waste not, want not. Can you help the journeyman to avoid the exorbitant cost of repairs?

Leverage: Waterdeep is a series of adventures that help put the heist back into Dragon Heist. Set during chapter of the adventure, the PCs help the good folk of Waterdeep take back what's their in exchange for affordable repairs to Trollskull Manor.

"Waste Not, Want Not" is an heist-style adventure designed for 2nd level characters who are playing Chapter 2 of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. It also provides an early taste for the villainous plot during the Summer Season. Fret not - DMs can easily scale the adventure for play up to 5th level, and with a little work it can be inserted into any urban fantasy setting.

This adventure makes use of the Complication Points mechanic. This narrative tool allows players fail forward to keep the plot moving, all while the DM sets up a bigger threat in the future.

"[The authors] show once again their expert understanding of heist crafting and the need to give tables numerous versatile options to complete interesting objectives." ~Tabletop Level Up

Part 2 of the Leverage series is a good installment in the series, and keeps the urban investigation theme going nicely. I liked the story and setup, but had to do some significant tweaking by fleshing out the guildhall and scaling back considerably on [...]

Great adventure to run in Chapter 2 of Dragon Heist! If you run Leverage 1 first then you can have Cole help give some background on the chimney in the Baker's Guild when they're investigating what's going on. My players all had a good time but there [...]

Full disclosure: I received a free review copy of this adventure. If you're looking for a side-adventure for your Waterdeep: Dragon Heist campaign that doesn't take itself too seriously, this is a good option. Having just taken possession of Trollsku [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
