An Adventuring Party Walks Into a Bar…

There have been strange accounts from several of the heavier drinkers in Hillsfar; all are reports of monsters plaguing the woods near the city.  Are these simply the ravings of those who have overindulged… or is there a more sinister plot to uncover? Your party is hired to go on a pub crawl and uncover any mischievous mixologists or spiteful servers in order to get to the bottom of these claims.

There is no better drink than that of justice served!

But adventurers should probably try them all, just to be sure… this is a pub crawl after all!

A 4-Hour Adventure for 1st to 4th  Level Characters

Author: Christine Weidenbach

WHAT TO EXPECT: This is a low combat, role play heavy module. Players who want to fight their way through modules will likely not have much fun. As the description suggests, drinking is a theme; therefore this is not suggested for younger players. This module also lacks a serious tone, and doesn’t run along the lines of epic fantasy, which may not gel with the hopes of some players. Though this could likely be derived from the synopsis, I’ve noticed some confusion by way of the comments, so I want to clarify the general contents to help DMs ensure this is a good fit for their group before purchase and play through. It may also be a good idea to inform your players what to expect as well.

Author's Note: This is the first module I have ever written, and I really just wanted to make something funny for people to enjoy.  It is role play heavy, and a great way to get a group to loosen up and have a few laughs.  During its premiere we laughed so much, my sides hurt for a solid week.  So if you want to just have a relaxing and silly game with your friends for a night, this is a great module to try out!

I was a player at a table tonight and this was the module. I was not a huge fan. I tend to prefer combat>exploration>roleplay so it was probably not a good fit. I don't think going from pub to pub drinking makes for a good adventure. We also had a younger player on our table (under 13) so we had to "tone down" the pub crawl aspects of this to make the module PG. Our younger player also got a bit bored and started trying to attack the NPCs which is always a sign that there needs to be some more combat. I can see that it is good to have a mix of adventures to match different players' styles - just if you enjoy combat and a more 'serious' or 'traditional' approach to d&d this is probably not the best for you.

Oh goodness! I'm so sorry. I updated the file, and I must not have ran all the way through it. The PDF should be there now. Let me know if it isn't.

I'm so sorry about that again. I'm new to this, and still getting the hang of it.

I ran this adventure tonight and it was a hilarious success! And it has replayability even with the same group of people. My one question is...where is Handout 2??

There is no doubt that this will now become my go to mod whenever I need to fill in for another DM, or I have a group of newbies that need to learn how to roleplay, or we just need a fun mod to lighten the mood, or.....well honestly, its probably just gonna live in my DM's bag for whenever the mood strikes.
Yes, it really is THAT good.

I think what Jim is asking is: did this actually go through the Adventurer's League CCC application and approval process to be authorized and qualified as an actual CCC adventure, or did you just publish a module and make it look like it was an authorized AL CCC? If it's the latter, you should probably take it down, reskin, and rename it, as it will not be an official Adventurer's League adventure and selling it as a CCC is misleading people.

Is this a "funny poke" at Adventurers League modules since it's not published under WoTC?

How do you mean? I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. It was convention created content for an Extra Life convention. It's the first one I ever published, so if I did something wrong, I would like to know so I can fix it right away.

No, it was my naivete apparently! Please don't take offense! The question had nothing to do with content. :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
