"As diverse as they are loyal, the caninites are an impressive folk. They may have come from Hundur, if the legends are true, but now they are scattered all over the Forgotten Realms. Years and years of evolution have made the caninites all sizes, shapes, and colors. They are dependable, compassionate, and trusting to a fault. Caninites are not known for their intelligence, but their willingness to lay down their lives for their companions is second to none. A fiercer friend, you will not find."

Justin, I just picked this up and was reading through the title page, where you said you did all the artwork...then I went and looked at the artwork, that you said you did and they aren't by you AT ALL, just from Pinterest and Deviant Art!!

Why would you state you made them, when in fact you did NOT??

Hey Kurt. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. That was a line I had added when I was doing my own illustrations for the installment. In the end I decided to use other people's art and credit them when possible. I simply forgot to remove that line from the cover page. I have since removed that line and re-uploaded the revised version. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the playable race! Appreciate you looking out!

On the line of artwork, the head on the creature on the cover is incorrectly proportioned. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so it grabs my eye right away. If you crop the head out and copy it, then paste it back in and size it to around 20% bigger that should look about right. If I recall, DiVinci said that 10 skulls = body height, so you should be able to fir about four skulls beteen the belt and the top of the neck. Play around with that 20% size a bit, and line the skull up so it would line up precisely with the backbone and it should be perfect. :)
Oh, when you save it, be sure to move your quality/compression slider down to where it is barely compressing it. A quality of 90%, or 10% compression is usually perfect for a book cover, because covers are supposed to be as close to perfect as possible. 10% Compression will help hide lines and colors that aren't blended perfect though.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
