Critically Awesome Essentials is an extension framework used for the Fantasy Grounds VTT. It uses modules for different functions.

Now includes CUSTOM tokens, CUSTOM monster shapes, and functionality for one-click polymorph, shape change, and disguise. WOW!

This now includes the Generic Token Swapper which adds the ability to change tokens of players and NPCs on the fly, set custom “shapes”, and also resolves the ever pesky token stack issues. This works for all the rulesets built on coreRPG.

Now include "effects list" to use polymorph etc. DIRECTLY ON NPCs in the combat tracker. 

As Critically Awesome Essentials continues to add functions to Fantasy Grounds, several modules will be released with different functions. Many are already in development!

The first one, presented here with the extension, concerns wild shape functionality for Druids. DM's and player's lives just got a WHOLE LOT easier...

Critically Awesome Essentials is an extension that will change the way you game. It adds functionality to Fantasy Grounds that will skyrocket your gaming experience.

The first module developed is free and included with this extension:

Module #1 - One-Click Druids

This will make Wildshape shape-changing a breeze. The most notable feature is the token change and size adjustment when the shifted effect is applied to the character. All of the wild shapes are stored in Wildshape "spells". They are coded with all the stat changes, attacks, effects, and more! Simply drag the "spell" to your actions tab, click the effect inside the "spell", and watch the magic as you have everything you need, as your new beast form, at your fingertips!

The "spell" descriptions have brief summaries of the beast shapes, explanation of special beast abilities, suggested uses for the Wildshape form, and links to the NPC stat blocks (Mainly intended for the DM to verify information, MUST HAVE Monster Manual and/or Volo's Guide to Monsters loaded to view stat blocks).

When a creature has a skill and I have a skill it is adding the modifiers together rather than selecting the higher modifier. (i.e., Perception - I have +5 owl has +3 it rolls skill with a +8. I've tested with various wildshapes and it does the same thing.

Hi,
I am running CAE 1.86 with latest FGU and mad mage. I also have the latest rob2e effects coding - spells. When I use a spell token (e.g. spirit guardians) as the GM and drag and drop to an intersection I correctly get a single token on the map of the correct size: 17.5 foot radius. When I use a spell token as a client it drops two tokens: one 2 foot radius and one 22 foot radius.

Do you see this?

I so want to purchase this and the DM Tools, but I run FGU and SWADE, I do not run 5E. Will these two extensions work with SWADE?
I understand there is problems with FGU, but I can work with that if it works with SWADE.

It does not work with SWADE at this time... eventually I’m planning on making it SWADE compatible, but for now it does not due to the combat tracker changes that SWADE implemented in that ruleset

I had to take out the EXT files today after the FGU update that happened on June 5th.. They no longer work correctly with the new version. Those are the Crit Awesome Essentials, and One Click Druid, and One click More. FGU worked fine once I took the extensions out of the folder. And yes, I did put the new ones in from the 3rd. All my errors and my players errors were fixed once i took them out.

I just tested it in FGU... with the Unity Compatible Critically Awesome Essentials extension v1.85 ... everything is working fine with no errors... please ensure you are using the unity compatible version of the extension... also please contact me in the discord that is in the readme file so I can better help troubleshoot any issues you are having. Just a note that using this extension along with 5E Enhancer (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?51353-5E-Enhancer) causes the DM Tools portion (the spell icon stuff) to simply disappear. Thought you might want to know. Love the extension, though!

How do you know if there's an update to the module and how do you update? Is it a manual drag and drop back into the modules folder, or can FG somehow detect that the module needs an update?

Hm, cool, found the instructions. Unfortunately it appears that you can only have one token per player and I'd need to come in here and rename it every time? It appears the change persists, but for each character (which isn't particularly helpful tbh). Ha, kinda awkward way to achieve that if Polymorph was being used a lot, but I suppose it's something.

This extension and group modules looks very appealing. I have them in my cart and ready to purchase, but I have a question. Are there any known conflicts with the free extensions available on the FG Forums for 5E? Specifically, I use the Combat Enhancer (Classic and Unity versions).

I would like this to be looked into also. Combat Enhancer was a game changer for many thinks we do in FG.

As i see it, the problem is on the layer stuff. If you add the player token to the bottom layer and stack there, it works. Is there a way to add the support for this layers? It also helps with the issue of miss clicking the spell token, no? The spell token on another layer would be awesome. Maybe an optional file for those who use Combat Enhancer? Thanks a bunch! Keep up the good work!

I am not able to get the Wildshape tokens to display on the map. I have the One-Click Druid, One-Click More, and DM Tools mods loaded. When I apply the effect, the character stats change appropriately, but the token does not change. I have a token loaded on the notes page for the wildshape, and have checked to ensure the shiftname matches the sname. I don't know what else to look at.

The DM needs to have the modules loaded... also make sure you are only running the regular CAE extension (for Fg Classic) and make sure you are not running the other versions as well... like don’t run the classic version and the unity version on the same game

I am the DM, I've been testing out the mods before putting them into play. And yes, only the CAE Classic extension is running. The token changes in the combat tracker, but not on the map.

I was able to chat with DiabloBob, he quickly pointed out MY error. The problem was I copied the tokens to the map from the tabletop and not from the CT. After doing things correctly, everything worked great.

DiabloBob and Rob Twohy are producing great products that are immensely helpful to the DM. I highly recommend them.

I purchased this extension, as well as the other two that have been currently released, but for some reason, the extension isn't working properly for me.

This purchase has 2 extensions showing for me, the Critically_Awesome_Essentials_FGU.ext as well as the Critically_Awesome_Esse...neric_Token_Swapper.ext. I've placed those in my extension folder and turned the first one on, but it doesn't seem to do anything when I go into the game. Now to me it looks like an extension for Fantasy Grounds Unity (and it says unity compatible in my chat box when I get the game running), but I don't have any of the functionality I should be getting. The other extension seems to only be able to be activated in non-D&D 5E rulesets.

For my downloads for this purchase I see 4 files. The two extensions listed, the .mod file and a read me file. It seems like I'm missing the Fantasy Grounds Classic .ext file however. Is the FGU file useable for FGC?

If you are planning on playing 5E on FGU, you should only put in the FGU.ext and the druid.mod in the appropriate places. Make sure you enable the ext and then load the module once in FGU. You should then be able to try the wildshape/polymorph effect on a PC.

Hi will this allow me to create custom stats aka the fixes necessary for Giant Rocktopus or to custom make any beast form. Also does it function with Longstrider? Sorry I am quite new to FGU. Please let me know. Thank you.

Using FGU with CAE, and DM Tools. It appears some of the options in the DMTools video are not yet available in FGU? I am not sure the extent, but some rudimentary testing shows that Encounters are not auto added to the Party XP Screen, then I found there is no option menu for CAE. I am not sure if CAE related or DM tools. I loaded the non FGU version to see, and it indeed shows the options menu. (But doesn't work obviously)

FGC user... I click to shift, but get an error "Script Error: [string "scripts/manager_combat.lua"]:1339: addToken: Parameter 2 is not the name of a valid token." The token doesn't change either. Did I install something incorrectly?

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
