Iz'Puz's Infinite Lens of Races and Archetypes is brimming with new rules for players, allowing for huge quantities of customization. Most races come from the existing Forgotten Realms canon, encouraging the decision to provide simply a brief background summary rather than long sections of lore fluff for each race - take a look at the Forgotten Realms Wiki if you want more information. Hey, this is a weird way to reply to you on your Darfellan, but I only just got the message that you had replied to me there, and since then you've put all your race and class options into this collection.

Anyway, I see what you mean about the swim speed being set to 30 feet instead of the 3e version's 40 feet. I think you're right that me upping it won't hurt anything too much, too. They could be the Centaur of the sea, you might say. I have noticed, by the way, that Wizards tends to up the power level of aquatic races a bit in 5e, though. They tend to come with just a little more power. I've assumed this is because D&D isn't really built for sea faring adventures as the primary feature, and aquatic races tend to go long stretches without being able to shine. So when they do get their moment, it seems like Wizards wants their dedication to really pay off.

That all being said, the Darfellan is already pretty beefy. I agree that it could easily go either way.

Hey mate, thanks for your feedback. I think in light of the centaur's release, you're 100% on the money that they could match the horse people on speed, although I might be tempted to go back to 3e again and reduce their walking speed to 20, so that they have a drawback like the centaur's difficulty with stairs etc, although that might be too much of a nerf. I think you're definitely right about aquatic races getting a bit of a buff and with your reasoning behind it, particularly the locathah recently. If you're looking at running an aquatic campaign, I might suggest looking at the particularly watery material in Ghosts of Saltmarsh and going from there.

Thanks for the advice! I do plan to run a water themed campaign after we finish up our current one. For now the Darfellan are just one the coast, but next time we're running a full seafaring adventure.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
