CCC-DES-01-02 A Sanity Never Questioned

ADD TO WISHLIST >

"Jeny Greenteeth gives you a letter that must reach its far-off destination, with frightening consequences if it doesn't make it there by nightfall. Jeny knows one way to accomplish this, but her method of travel isn't for the weak of spirit. All magic has a price, dearies, and these magics may have you doubting your sanity. Part 2 in the 'At Jeny's Request' series."

A four-hour Adventurers League adventure for levels 5-10.

More About This Adventure...

This story is told in a dark fairy tale style, and its events closely follow the events of CCC-DES-01-01 Finding the Rabbit Hole. The threats are ever looming and insidious, and danger lurks around every turn.  The DM is empowered in this adventure to make the fights harder and even more confusing, to play up the atmosphere of race adventure.

This adventure has strong elements of all three RPG tiers (exploration, social, and combat), and is moderate to slightly difficult. It also features a generous history of the Feywild as it relates to the Forgotten Realms, and how this plane has featured in both Adventurers League adventures and other convention created content.

Some of the themes may be sensitive with younger players, so DM's may wish to tone down certain themes for children.

The maps are hand-drawn, but we now have a cartographer on retainer.  We will upload better quality maps when this product reaches silver status.

It says in the mod that the players can get a hag eye as a common magic item, will they actually be able to use it? Or is this just basically a trinket? "This coven’s hag eye is on a pendant worn by Selithiss. If it is not destroyed, it actually can serve as a common magic item (see adventure description)." I can't seem to find the adventure description (unless it's the one in the sea hag statblock, which goes back to my original question of if the characters can use it or if its basically a trinket)

The hag eye is little more than a trinket.

The wording may be a little confusing because of when the adventure dropped, which was just after the release of Xanathar’s. It was intended to be an ersatz eye, but AL admins requested it be dialed back. The item as it was intended actually drops later in the series for character acquisition (and its pretty damn cool). I apologize for any confusion.

Yes, that elemental does show up again. You learn who that elemental is over the course of DES-01 parts 3-5. And ultimately, you defeat it in the 4-6 hour finale, premiering in a few months.

It’s Olhydra. The elemental is Olhydra. Thanks for playing!

I see that part 1 has a cert file but part 2 does not. Is this an oversight?

It isn't an oversight. The cert file has an omission of the item's special property, an omission that I cannot get corrected. I will upload the cert file as is, but I cannot add the Athletics (Swim) property to the cert. Luckily with Season 8, the cert is not necessary anymore for trading or documentation.

How is the rest of the adventure? Are you enjoying what you have read so far? I really hope so!

I am very excited to play it. I have a cleric of Jeny that rarely has any opportunity to explore his lore, this is an amazing addition to his story. From a technical standpoint I appreciate that it's a good length that allows it to be run comfortably in a 4 hour slot. I hate having to cut material when time runs out.

Erik, I apologize. Right now, I cannot upload the cert file through the website. I am working with DM's Guild to get this issue resolved, and I will update you when it becomes available.

In the meantime, if you are happy with this module, I encourage you to leave a rating and write a review. Those things are considered in whether we will continue offering a story, and the support WotC will give us in continuing this saga.

Erik, the great folks at DriveThru RPG have fixed the bug preventing my upload of the file. You should now have it added to your library.

Again, I appreciate any written review you might be able to offer about the adventure. It helps bring AL attention to the series, and it will create additional opportunities to expand this story down the road.

Finally, consider coming to the D8 Summit May 3-5, 2019 in Utica IL, where we will continue this story past the events of this adventure. You can find us on Tabletop.events.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
