Last Christmas

ADD TO WISHLIST >

This Christmas, Santa Claus must die! Adopt the role of one of the characters based on iconic Christmas villains and raid Santa’s North Pole base in order to destroy Santa’s corrupted form.

Due to Grunch’s machinations, Santa’s jovial form has been corrupted and he’s called off his annual gift-giving journey. Now, the Spirit of Christmas gives Grunch an ultimatum: he must assemble a team of other famous villains, infiltrate the North Pole base and destroy the corrupted Santa Claus so he can be reborn and deliver presents. The team will have to navigate environmental hazards, deal with four factions of Santa’s elves and finally battle the Man in Red himself.

However, each team member has their own secret agenda to complete … and time is running out!

This highly modular adventure, optimized for 3rd level PCs offers:

-        An exciting, unique, and fun story perfect for playing as a 2-6 hour, one-shot adventure.

-        10 Pregenerated Player Characters - play as PCs based on famous Christmas villains (Grunch, Mr Potato Sack, Easter Bunny, Jack Frost, Barry and Harv, Gremlin Mohawk, Ebenezer Scrooge, Hans the Skyscraper Terrorist , Angry Elf).

SO far I am liking what i am setting up to run. The only is came when I went to print the files. One of Kevin's letters (a pdf) had a Trojan virus in it. As I was printing at work this kinda sucked big time. My anti virus did not pick it up so I will be wiping my computer.

What's the grid size? Looks like 50x50, but that doesn't seem to quite align.

So far, I've seen 3 different grid sizes - 50 pixels, 70 pixels, and 75 pixels. This would be much easier to use with a VTT if the grid size was consistent. 70 pixels is the default for Roll20.

Regardless, looks like a super fun adventure, just a pain to use the maps with Roll20.

I can't find the Hans (human fighter) character sheet. Was the sheet deleted but not taken off the chart in the PDF? Thanks!

For the central workshop area, for a great audio choice, consider this beauty:

It's been trimmed by copyright protection. Here are some more places to hear it though:

They are meant for organized events or the DMs who run this adventure multiple times, with different groups, so they can setup a mini competition.

Check the second page of the character sheets. Some still have names like "Grinch", some have no name. Also, the Western approach section(p. 31) is labeled Eastern in the section title. Have played through abut half way today with 5 kids and it was a blast. Totally worth the price. Well thought out!

Last Christmas, I gave you my hart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

I'm afraid you are going to have to change--at the very least--a bunch of NPC names, as neither you, WotC, nor OneBookshelf (the team behind the DMsGuild) have the right to use other companies' IP like the Grinch, Oogie Boogie, Hans Gruber, etc. I'm surprised that someone with such a contribution list hasn't read the basic rules for the DMsGuild... Still, look forward to picking up the revised book!

Oh, I get it, we all want to play around with the great figures of our favourite movies and stories, it's just best left for blogs where you can fly under the radar as pure fanfic. I look forward to picking this up & reading it; might find some improvements for the rough North Pole invasion game I've got planned for my sons & friend this Christmas. Although that has been requested as a more anti-hero than heroic game ;)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
