Fallen Angel (5e Conversion)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

A fifth-edition conversion for the classic Eberron adventure, Fallen Angel.

About this adventure:

"The city of Sharn is one of the wonders of Khorvaire. Its towers seem to touch the sky, rising up more than a mile from the shores of the Dagger River. But it takes more than stone and steel to support the spires of Sharn: the area is suffused with mystical energy drawn from the plane of Syrania, which empowers all forms of flight. Yet with such wondrous inventions come wondrous tragedies, for when the magic of a flying tower fails, it has to land somewhere..."
 - Fallen Angel introduction, Dungeon 117

Fallen Angel, a classic Eberron adventure by Keith Baker, is set in the city of Sharn in the Eberron campaign setting. It culminates in an encounter with the memelith, a supernaturally-gifted channel for the spirits of the dead. It also introduces the beloved character of Faela, a Silver Flame missionary who ministers to the poor in the district of Fallen, and who appears in several new adventures for 5th edition.

Originally published in 2004 in Dungeon 117, this adventure has now been fully converted to fifth edition.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

This product only includes 5e conversion notes and bonus content. It does not contain the original 3.5 adventure text, which is required to run this module. The original adventure may be obtained from Dungeon 117.

Content:

This product includes the following and more:

  • Complete conversion notes for fifth edition, including balance notes both for a party of four 3rd level characters, and for a party of four to six 4th level characters.
  • New stat blocks for the memelith, blink hound pup sires, Kaelys Tela, Faela, and Sythrael.
  • Sample whispersong text.
  • Bonus encounter to find the statue's missing eye.
  • Suggestions on linking to other adventures.

Sequels:

After finishing Fallen Angel, you are strongly encouraged to continue Faela's story with the unofficial sequels Fallen Mad (from Encounters in Sharn) and Fallen Martyr (an upcoming DMsGuild adventure by Patrick Dunning).

By day, Laura Hirsbrunner is a freelance academic consultant, editor of the Across Eberron: Convergence Manifesto adventure path, play-by-post server moderator, wife to a paladin, and mother to two gibbering mouthlings. By night, she explores dungeons and slays daelkyr (because really, dragons aren't the bad guys). Completely by accident, the names of her characters, past and present, all end in A.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
