Myrkara's Hoard - Adventure for level 8

Myrkara's Hoard – An adventure for 4 or 5 characters of level 8!

Myrkara’s Hoard is a 4-6 hour Tier Two Forgotten Realms adventure, suitable for 4-5 characters at 8th level. It takes place around the eastern edge of the Forest of Wyrms, where the players hear legends of the long-dead green dragon Myrkara. Nearly all believe her hoard was plundered ages ago, yet a half-elf acolyte says he knows the secret to discovering her hidden cache. Be wary those who seek gold and glory! Something sinister lurks amid the dragon's hoard...

This adventure is designed to be played over 4-6 hours in one or two sessions. It can be used to kick off a new campaign, or with few modifications it can fit into an existing campaign. Inside these pages you can find:

  • Social exploration - Prepare your characters for the dangers ahead with an optional social exploration chapter. Meet some of the residents of Triel and learn the local lore and legends. Note: DMs may find Feldor's Guide to Triel useful while running this adventure.
  • Modoc Rune - Modoc is looking for a group of adventurers to hire. He may be unsavoury, but he will deal fairly. Maybe your characters will deal fairly too!
  • Random encounter table - The Forest of Wyrms is filled with tension and peril. Use these 10 random encounters to set the tone of the adventure, however you choose to run it. Any of these can easily be turned into combat encounters if you choose!
  • 4 combat encounters with difficulty scaling - Challenge your players with combat encounters relevant to the storyline. Guidance is also given to make encounters more or less difficult, and to suggest ways the characters might avoid fighting altogether.
  • 9 monster statblocks - Tired of flipping back and forth in the Monster Manual? The 9 statblocks included in this adventure are all you need to run it. Simply print and play!
  • 5-room dungeon with map - Myrkara's secret lair holds incredible treasures, as well as incredible danger. Characters beware!
  • Treasure and loot - Incredible wealth lay hidden in Myrkara's secret lair. Two all-new magic items are hidden away, though the characters may not get to keep them!

Hi Adam,

There is a map of the lair on the lower left side of page 10 of the adventure.

If you are looking for a map of Triel, you can find them in Feldor's Guide to Triel on the DMs Guild. There is a free abridged edition you can use, as well as the full edition. The free edition can be found here: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/245356/Feldors-Guide-to-Triel--Free-Edition

Sorry for the spoiler. But I don't understand how many golems are getting activated at the Entrance and if the golems are stone or Iron.

I couldn't find a reference in the adventure for the Iron golems at all, so, I don't understand if they are there only for scaling up the adventure.

Hi Alexandros,

I have updated the adventure to more clearly identify the golem types in each location. An updated copy of the adventure should be available in your library for download.

Thank you for the feedback,

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
