CALL OF THE KRAKEN: WATERDEEP

Continue your adventures after completing Waterdeep Dragon Heist!

In this adventure for levels 5 to 7, one of Waterdeep's factions reaches out with a special assignment: locate their missing agent!

SHARK FINS AND TENTACLES

The investigation quickly leads to a trading house in the Southern Ward and then to a sea cave linked to the city harbor.

In their quest to find the missing agent, the adventurers uncover a plot by the Kraken Society and their sahuagin allies to infiltrate Waterdeep.

Will the PCs be up to their necks in sea water, ensnared by a giant octopus? Are they a match for the toothy bite of sahuagin shark allies?

Are the PCs capable of resisting the lure of cursed magic items in their quest for coin and the missing agent? Are they a match for a crushing wave?

*This adventure uses monsters found in Volo's Guide to Monsters, but provides statistical substitutes from the Monster Manual.

Sounds cool! I'd be interested in an "Waterdeep" bundle collecting all the material for Waterdeep Dragon Heist.

Thanks for asking. No plans to. I really wouldn't know where to begin, to be honest.

That's fine. I was able to create one for myself. Looking forward to eventually running my players through it, once they get to that point.

You are having difficulty printing? I can check the source file. My original test print didn't show any problems printing, though.

Most of us cannot print pages with colored backgrounds. It overtaxes our printers and, when printed in black and white, makes the pages indecipherable. So a "printer friendly" version would just include pages with no backgrounds.

A purposeful group can get through in one 4-5 hour session, especially if they dodge/outsmart some of the adversaries; but two sessions is comfortable norm, particularly if they spend any amount of time in the RP encounters (Faction assignment, Rooms 2, 9 and 11) and engage in combat with most or all of the 10 combat adversaries.

Cool idea! How many hours of game time would you say it takes (rough estimates are fine ^^) to play through the adventure?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
