Revenge of the Gith (one shot adventure)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Outline:

The players must infiltrate a remote military academy at night to secure the release of loved ones taken hostage by the belligerent githyanki.  Playable as a standalone adventure or a continuation of the Instruments of Fate one shot series, the module easily is adapted for insertion into the main campaign of a variety of group levels and compositions.

Features:

- multiple pathways to success

- descriptions of over seventy rooms and other areas to explore

- NPCs to assist (or hinder) the party's progress

- detailed maps of common areas

- original artworks

- an extended adventure scenario for players wanting to go undercover as githyanki and explore the academy over a longer time period

- some old school favourites

- patrol, death penalty and trial by combat mechanics

- various creature encounters (including the pit fiend on the cover)

- the return of Philogena and the Entity

- and much more.

Author's note: feedback on playability is welcome; let me know which path and NPCs proved most popular - contact details on the last page.  If you like it don't forget to rate it; if you don't like it, drop me an email and let me know what can be improved.

Is there a particular reason that the third installment of the series cost money where the rest were pay what you want? I've done the first two but don't have money so I can't continue without a weird gap in information

Hi Josh -
It takes quite a lot of time and effort into putting together these adventures, so for every third one or so I've put a price on my time. Even then I set the price below what others appear to charge for less detailed offerings.
Each of the Instruments of Fate can be played as a standalone adventure. In the case of Revenge of the Gith, the major continuity information you would miss by not playing it is set out in the introduction on page 6 of the fourth instalment, Into The Abyss. That information was contained in a diary left behind by Philogena in Revenge of the Gith for the party to find; just have the diary delivered to the party by an old friend of Philogena's, who also tells them that Philogena has captured the Bad Guy from the Crucible and is taking him down to the Abyss to give to Abraxas in exchange for her husband. That should cover any gap in your continuity.
Cheers
Alan

Thanks for that. I would love to get it as I've loved the first two with all the references and all but thank you again for the assistance. I will ask my players if they want to contribute anything towards getting this one.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
