CCC-UK-2 The Wayward Wives

ADD TO WISHLIST >

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES.

Ill winds blow over Wayward. The men drink apart from their wives, while a mysterious traveler sows discontent between married couples. The Wayward wives have had enough and are plotting revenge.

The Wayward Wives is a four-hour adventure for 3-7 characters of level 1-4, balanced for five 3rd-level characters. It is the second part of the Elvenflow Saga, a series of standalone adventures set on the banks of the Elvenflow Estuary near the shore of the Moonsea. These adventures premiered at the UK Games Expo and are designed to evoke the feel of the classic UK series of modules: strong stories, rich on folklore, with plenty of scope for roleplaying.

The Wayward Wives was designed by Will Doyle and features a cover by Stacey Allan. This adventure premiered at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham on June 2018.

Hello, Will,
I am D&D player and DM here in Ukraine, and I like a lot this adventure for its many layers and variability. I would like other DMs to have it, though not many of ukrainian DM can read English good enough to use your text.

So I've thought it wouldn't hurt if I ask your permission to translate Wayward into Ukrainian and publish it again on DMSguild, Or maybe I can send this translation to you for publication.

Great adventure. Ran this at ReaperCon last month and the players really enjoyed it. Can be a bit dark and relies on traditional gender roles, so heads up if that's a concern. Has a Grimm's fairy tale vibe. But the well-developed NPCs and non-linear sandbox design make this one stand head and shoulders above most AL content I've run. Definitely will run again!

This is a really great adventure! Any news on when the next module in the series will be available?

I'm purchasing this solely due to the quality of part 1 by Ian Hawthorne (The Wayward Wives). Can't wait to dive in.

Thanks, Michael! The next three mods premiere at the UK Games Expo in early June and should be available here shortly after the show.

What does the story award connect to? Is there another module in the series after this one?

Hey Will, love your work!
Several years later, and there is no UK-5! I have UK-1 through -4 purchased and prepped, but I'm at a loss as to what to do with these story awards.. The Characters will meet the Bourne in UK-4 after maybe getting a similarly undefined Story Award in UK-3...

Any guidance on what I can offer here? I'd love to say, give them each a Potion or choice of a 2nd Level Spell Scroll if they get one reward and an Uncommon magic item if they get both, but I'm unsure as to the bounds of my authority! We are playing in AL, so I wanna stay within those limits..

Thanks so much, and again, love all your work! My regular DM had the pleasure of playing with you at a Con in Montreal, and he's shown us a bunch of your modules, looking forward to returning the favour :)

Recently, I had the pleasure of playing this adventure with a new D&D group. What a fun romp with a spooky setting that is well seasoned with fun NPCs and different threads to follow. Now I'm ready to run it for my own group. If I wasn't a Will Doyle fan before, I certainly am now! Do yourself a solid and grab a copy!

I got the chance to run this module at UK Games Expo. It was a pleasure to run and each of the tables I ran for followed the story in a different way. Overall well thought out plot threads, compelling NPCs and a mechanically and narratively satisfying finale.

I played this at UKGE. Will Doyle was the DM. I really enjoyed the module. It felt as though many different pathways would all work within the story and we covered so many different encounters in the four hours, I was amazed. Strongly recommended.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
