CCC-UK-1 Call of the Elvenflow

DREAD THE CALL OF THE ELVENFLOW!

Folk tales warn of strange noises from the Cormanthor Forest when winter fogs are thickest and the black of night has no shadows to cast. When such noises are heard on a late summer’s afternoon, perhaps it’s time to turn once again to the old stories?

Call of the Elvenflow is a four-hour adventure for 3-7 characters of level 1-4, balanced for five 1st-level characters. It is the first part of the Elvenflow Saga, a series of standalone adventures set on the banks of the Elvenflow Estuary near the shore of the Moonsea. These adventures premiered at the UK Games Expo and are designed to evoke the feel of the classic UK series of modules: strong stories, rich on folklore, with plenty of scope for roleplaying.

Call of the Elvenflow was designed by Ian Hawthorne and features a cover by Stacey Allan. This adventure premiered at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham on June 2018.

Had a fantastic time with this one and will definitely run again. Players loved it. Did kill one 1st level character in the forest ambush. Definitely optimized for lvl 2 and 3 characters. An APL 4 group will roll through it with ease.

This is one of the best modules I've had the pleasure of running, and I'll definitely run it again. It has a compelling backdrop that echoed well with my personal love for wilderness adventures, and it has just the right mix of combat and social interaction. I liked how everything in the story logically ties together and doesn't feel like a contrived PC-centric setup. And the "non-combat encounter using initiative" mechanic I something that I wish to see more of in 5e adventures.

Our group had such a fun time with this adventure we were high-fiveing each other at the end. Ian Hawthorne, you need to be writing more of this.

Thank you. I've just premiered another Elvenflow adventure at UKGE 2019. Look out for CCC-UK-4 Bourne of Candles some time soon.

I ran this adventure on my first time out as a DM. It was clearly written, clever, and lots of fun to run. I will be running part two, Wayward Wives, in December.

This adventure is a celebration of lore, roleplay, and consequence; a callback to the days when the "UK" appellation indicated an adventure of depth and story, as opposed to a loosely-tied together collection of combat encounters. The characters are well-written and memorable; the central premise is delightfully steeped in lore; and the opportunity for character-driven decision-making and in-game consequence is beautifully realised.
It was the most rewarding and enjoyable Adventurer's League module I've played to date.

I played this at UKGE as a paladin of Chauntea and thoroughly enjoyed the flavour of the module. It has a very satisfying story that rewards roleplaying in inventive ways. Thoroughly recommend.

I played this at UKGE. It was a great module. The story was strong and there were many novel elements. It is completed in The Wayward Wives, that I also strongly recommend. The cover is also a nice retro touch. Thanks for this.

I also played at the expo and really enjoyed it. An evocative setting and unconventional resolution make it a memorable adventure. I recommend you buy it at once!!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
