Trollskull Manor Printable Deed - Dragon Heist

"You got a house?" Kella looked more puzzled than she sounded.
"A manor house," Kit corrected.
"Bullshit," Kella picked up the pace to keep up with her twin brother. "You're going to take me into some stranger's house and get me arrested again and I'm not falling for it."
Kit knew this sort of thing was coming, which made pulling the folded deed out of his breast pocket all the sweeter. Kella snatched it up and looked at it.
"I... I'm not sure what this is even trying to say. It makes my head hurt."
"In the best way! Bureaucracy, dear sister, is so very close to beauty." The enormous, if a little run-down mansion before them, Kit strided into their new home.

Features

UPDATE 2/10/19: There are now 4 printing options for each season represented in Dragon Heist. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The dates used inside the deeds are corrected and dialed in to coincide with the 4 equinoxes of the year. Text has been cleaned up marginally and a higher resolution has been used for 300ppi print quality. I hope this tickles the fancy of all you folks who wanted season specific deeds!

Drop The Die Logo

Taken from Real Life: This prop-deed was written in the styling of a 1699 french deed of a similar nature. The verbage and redundancies stay true to the bureaucratic stylings of the masked lords and high speech one might find from scriveners and scribes.

Several Printing Options: With your wallet in mind, four styles of deed are laid out - two styles of typeface each with and without an ornamental parchment coloring. Print on your favorite parchment color paper or print on plain white - the options are there.

Dragon Heist Tailored: The approximate year, approximate date, and using all of the cannonical names present in both Dragon Heist and the Sword Coast lore, this deed should pass muster with just about anyone as being authentic. I even did some digging into the NPCs to decide what style handwriting they might use!

Props are Handy: One sheet of paper doesn't seem like much, but a deed is important. Handing this to your players to have them sign in-character is a really cool way to signal the start of your big adventures in Waterdeep. I hope to see many people printing these out, signing them, and hanging them on the wall when they finish Dungeon of the Mad Mage! (even if there are a half-dozen names scratched out as the PCs inevitably change).

I would like to thank my cohort Tim Lanning (yes the Tim Lanning) for his assistance with this PDF. He's a good boy and everybody loves him.

I just downloaded this and it looks super cool. I had a question about the "straight and even" text vs. the "uneven but legible" text. In the PDF I downloaded, they look the same - both look straight and even. I'd love to use the "uneven but legible" version, but it doesn't seem to be there. Am I missing something?

I love this, thank you so much!!!
It seems like all the dates for the solstices/equinoxes are all a tenday early though. For example, the spring solstice would be Ches 19, which is the 9th day of the second tenday, not of the first.

Great work! Just one comment regarding the date: according to this tweet from the author, Chris Perkins: https://twitter.com/ChrisPerkinsDnD/status/1060352777174560769, the adventure is set in 1492 DR, the Year of Three Ships Sailing, not 1494.

I also second the comment asking for different versions for each season. It would be great to have versions matching each choice of villain. Thanks!

Chris clarified a month after this was published. I'll see about remaking the PDF to address it, but I cannot make any promises! (lotta data loss on a dead hard drive)

Great job with the update! It is excellent to have versions for all seasons.

However, one more nitpicking point is that, in the Summer and Winter versions, the season-starting days mentioned in the contract are called Solstices, not Equinoxes.

Thanks again for the amazing prop!

Fixed, just for you. Remember to rate and review if there is a god. Doing this 16 times just to fix one word and capitalization took nearly an hour. xD

This is a great prop, my players were floored! As it happens I was planning to run the Spring villain for my current group so the Ches date is perfect ... but I'm hoping to run it again with other villains. Hope this gets an update with different dates depending on the season!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
