The Rule of 12: Subclasses

Rule of 12: Subclasses

The Last War spawned many innovations in the art of battle and adventurers blazing their own paths. I asked myself, "What archetypes are unfulfilled in D&D and what world would easily accept them?" I designed these subclasses and I knew just where they belonged. Whether in Eberron or another world of pulp action these subclasses will add new mechanics and open up new styles of play.

12 subclasses inspired by the pulp action wildness that inspired Eberron itself.

  1. Bard: College of Metal Scream out thunder damage and charge into the frontlines with steel!

  2. Bard: College of War Dance Step in synch and march to victory, ramping up damage with each attack!

  3. Barbarian: Path of the Clenched Fist The unarmed barbarian wrestler!

  4. Druid: Circle of Symbiosis Bond with the life inside of you and join moon druids on the frontline!

  5. Fighter: Duelist Trade heavy armor for speed and go fishing for critical hits!

  6. Monk: Way of the Hurler You spent your time at the monastary throwing axes and knives to become a storm of blades

  7. Paladin: Oath of Hope Have no fear for YOU are here!

  8. Ranger: Leviathan Hunter Not only are nets useful, you can even bring down giant creatures!

  9. Rogue: Arcane Sniper Enhance stealth with illusions and fire spells into their soft belly!

  10. Sorcerer: Elemental Earth Bloodline No groundwalker escapes your awareness as you swim through the ground!

  11. Warlock: The Great Tree Patron An ancient pillar of life has made a pact to make you a tougher and harder hitting guardian of natural life.

  12. Wizard: Tradition of the Augmented Familiar This squishy wizard brought his own bodyguard, a battle familiar.

  13. The Lost Subclass: Guide the forces of the Draconic Prophecy!

For the Sorcerer: Elemental Earth Bloodline, it is missing one or more level 1 abilities. The sorcerous origin currently starts with the level 6 ability.

A pretty well thought out module, although with a few minor errors.
The War Dancer and Symbiosis Druid both fail to mention their 6th level abilities (Rhythm Ramp-up and Grow Armor respectively) are gained at 6th level. Also, the wording of the Cleric's Foreseen Fortune is rather confusing to me.

Secondly, the formatting needs a little bit of work; titles and subtitles just seem to be larger rather then bold. Basically just some spit and polish. Also, the Arcane Sniper's table is a little large.

Lastly, and rather amusingly to me, the title of the document in Acrobat Reader is "Powerpoint Presentation", so maybe something to have a look at there.

Most of the content is pretty well thought out though, will be looking forward to using this in my games.

Zach, I bought your House Cannith's Magical Marvels thing and got this instead. While this has some fun stuff, I would really like the other one...

Sorry for the error. It seems I made a mistake in attempting to update the subclasses PDF. Please enjoy 12 Subclasses as a freebie. DMs Guild has temporarily disabled Magical Marvels. I have corrected the PDF and you should be able to get it soon.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
