Quick question - How long after the Last War is this set?

Its not specified so as to make it easiest for the DM to use how they need. The default is the default of the standard Eberron setting: two years after the Treaty of Thronehold.

I have prepped to run this game (I'll follow up on this review after that) but haven't played through it yet. That being said, this is an extremely well put together adventure. It's broken down by scenario and helps the DM move the gamers easily to and through potential events. I love the format that breaks down the locations and objectives. This was definitely crafted with making a dungeon master's life a breeze. I appreciate that.

I very much enjoyed running this - but I note that there isn't the standard 'may be reproduced for personal use' at the bottom of this and other adventures - I prefer to print and bind my adventures at staples or similar, and most print places won't print without that disclaimer.

This adventure has gone through a new round of editing and has addressed the mistakes discovered since its release. Also we're chatting about a printer friendly version without the background layers.

If you can provide jpegs of the maps (no key) or maps with no key in the PDF, it would make converting and running this on a VTT much easier.

Any chance of a printer friendly version of these modules? I don't like to run from my laptop but with all the artwork and background design, printing is going to start to get rough.

Played this over the weekend and had a good time, though I have developed a profound distrust of Halflings. One question, is anyone aware of rules for purchasing a bronze scout for players ? TP cost ?

I had fun playing this adventure earlier today. It’s a nice investigation adventure that is a great Eberron experience.

Preview looks interesting, concerned about price point though - expensive!
11 adventures planned in series, assuming all around same length and cost will cost roughly TWICE buying WOTC Adventure !
Waterdeep Dungeon of the Mad Mage $25 on D&D Beyond (without coupon code) for full length adventure levels 5-20.
DDAL ones $5 a pop, pretty much 1 session each!
I’m don’t know if writer sets price , but premium price seems odd?!
I’m really into Eberron and excited about series. Too bad price point is off. I’m not sure how league works, was planning to use for home group. Maybe organized play DMS get adventures for free from store ..?

Hi Steven, I'll be writing one of the later adventures, so I might respond to your comments.

I think that pricing for adventures has been a bit lower than it should have been in the past. Price points have needed to come up a bit in order to give writers reasonable compensation. Is it good value for the buyer? Well, $5 gets you four hours entertainment for five or six people. That seems pretty good to me!

If buying the entire series is going to be too expensive for you as DM, can you ask your players to contribute? There's been a culture in the past where the DM buys everything, but I think that needs to change.

I hope you enjoy the series - there are some great adventures coming up!

Appreciate the answer, thanks.

Totally agree on players contributing!

It just doesn't make sense to pay $6.50 Canadian for a 3-4 hour one shot, when I can pay $25 for something that will last 100+ hours. $6.50x11=$71.50 for say 40 hours of gaming.

I get the site selling one shots for a few bucks, but in this case it's a series and it just doesn't add up.

I know it's outside your control, too bad that we can't get season pass like itunes and be able to pay comparable price to hardcover and be able to download new 'episodes' each week as they are released.

Based on what our GM showed us, this is not your standard black and white text PDF. There’s color art that somebody may have had to pay for. Even if not, the production value on this is above the standard Adventurers League fair.

The AL doesn’t give away adventures to stores because the individual authors don’t get paid separately to create content. The DMs Guild is how they get paid. There’s a floor on how low the price can go for the author to get paid appropriately on these. It’s not like a book by a big publisher like WOTC. The sales volume is not comparable.

Let me preface by saying that I am all about writers getting paid for their quality work.

However, did you see the giant list in the first comment of these reviews with all of the spelling and grammar errors? Not to mention any lore errors (I haven't purchased this module yet, but if it's anything like Episode 0, there are lore errors. Probably many.) This is simply not quality work. Neither this author nor the author of Episode 0 deserves $5. It seems like there was no editing process whatsoever.

Given how poorly episode 1 was written and how poorly it seems like this one was (again, I can't say for sure because I haven't purchased; just basing it of of the errors already found by other purchasers) I will not be buying any of this content at any price point until there are major overhauls.

You guys are the Adepts! The best of the best! Show us your good work!

I hate to pile on, but totally agree. Never used these AL ones before and not terribly impressed with what I've seen so far. I want to like them, really not just some crank!

I really love what I'm reading here! It looks like a great module with plenty of opportunity for player agency and a definite Eberron tone. I can't wait to run it tomorrow, and I promise to leave a review once I do, but I am a bit confused by the station map. I will make something up if you don't have a chance to answer today, but I don't quite understand the platform.

The description says that the platform is wide enough to board two coaches at the same time, so I assumed that it was an indoor platform and that the coaches would come through the two 10'-wide openings in the south wall, allowing the passengers to wait between the columns/pillars in the middle section. But 10' seems a bit narrow for lightning rail coaches, and I don't know what the middle opening on the south wall would be used for. I'm sure I'm just not thinking about it in quite the right way, but could you help me out?

Thanks!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
