The Blood Mage (full class)

Take on the power of the blood mage, channel arcane energies with your own vitality. Use it to destroy your foes, bolster your own defenses, or to persuade your way through challenges. The blood mage offers options both for those seeking a full on high power caster, and more a hybrid fighter/mage class.

This is my own attempt at a homebrew of a blood mage class for a friend of mine. So I wonder what you all thing and if you have any input or opinions.

Will the spell list of this class be updated with the new spells of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything?

At what level we get the blood mutations? In the table it says we get it in 3rd level, but in Blood Mutation feature it say: "At 2nd level, you gain two blood mutations of your choice...".
Can someone answer this to me?

Yeah, that has to be a typo. It should be at 3rd level, because otherwise you'd get too much at level 2 and not enough at level 3.

This class looks amazing. I would love to see more hemomancy spells though. I've been combing through other classes and such of similar nature looking for some interesting spells, aside from it though, you can always flair the existing spells. For poison spray, I have my character make a poisonous cloud of blood, and the like.

It doesn't say how many spell slots you get of 1st-5th. I'd assume like a normal full spellcaster. But in the multiclassing section it says you can cast blood mage spells with NORMAL spell slots, except hemomancy spells. This seems to imply that they don't get normal spell slots. So what is it? Do they get spell slots like a bard, or like a warlock, or in some other different way?

You don't get spell slots. From my understanding sacrificing your health is what takes the place of the spell slots. Hemomancy spells require the caster to use their blood, hence why you can't use spell slots with them. If I'm interpreting it correctly.

Overall its a solid go into the concept of Bloodmage. And I should start with I need more of this.
However a few things I ran into which raised questions did occur.

For creation equipment Component pouch serves no functions since you cannot cast with it. A dagger could replace it I feel.
Some costs are really high for what they do. Raving Blood comes to mind 5 points for a single target disadvantage.
There's a few things that have me unclear.
-Ritual Casting using humanoid creatures. Its says combined CR equal or lower than the spell. I assume you can't ritual cast Water Breathing from a CR 1/8 enemy seeing as its a 3th level spell. Or was this intended? Since I mostly have been applying up to the first spell level available (CR total below or equal to 1 to 1st level, CR total 1+1/8 to CR2 to 2nd level and so on.)
There is also not a whole lot of Rituals available. Water Breathing might be the only one.
-In Master Blood Mage. Second casting quadruples but its cost...See more

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
