The Tomb of the Trickster God: Puzzles, Tricks, and Traps

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The name has been known for hundreds of years but only spoken by a small few. Over the years, stories of the Trickster God—his exploits, his interventions, his influence—spread through various kingdoms. Some versions contain veins of truth, some credit the Trickster God for the exploits (or failures) of others, and some are used as lessons about the corrupting powers of greed and vanity. But they all end the same: a dead man, a hidden tomb, and the lure of long-lost treasure. Only a scant few ever knew the truth about the Trickster God (who he was, what he did, and where his body rests) and none who have sought after his fortune have ever returned...

The Tomb of the Trickster God is yet another fun and customizable D&D adventure module that is full of puzzles, riddles, tricks, and traps. Want even more puzzles?!? Check out our other puzzle-filled module: The Caverns of Chaos.

You can pick and choose from the list of puzzles and slot them into your existing story. Or you can run this module as a modified dungeon crawl with 12 consecutive rooms of traps, tricks, and infuriating puzzles all leading to the glorious conclusion and the deserved reward of magic items, treasure, and (most importantly) glory.

Suggestions for modifying or customizing the puzzles and traps are included throughout. The module also includes printable puzzle templates and guides for those group playing D&D in-person.

The Tomb of the Trickster God includes:

  • Three adventure hooks for different parties, players, and classes.
  • A detailed campaign hook with additional riddles and instructions to create a physical puzzle that ties the story of the Trickster God into your campaign.
  • Random Puzzles Table for adding traps and puzzles to other dungeons.
  • Suggestions for modifying the adventure to fit existing WotC storylines or your home campaign.
  • Original magic item rewards.
  • Custom colour artwork of the Goblin Leg Gang playtest characters.

Can your adventuring party find the long-lost tomb? Will you uncover the truth of the Trickster God's sordid past? What treasure awaits you find at the end? Are you smart enough to even make it to the end?? WHO KNOWS!!?!

This one-shot adventure was thoroughly and
hilariously playtested by multiple adventuring groups. Many thanks to:
Jamie, Drew, Rob, Wendy, Travis, Nick, Sarah, Brad, and Brett.

Hey! You can run it for a group of any level. It's basically a bunch of puzzles. Just scale the damage triggered by failures according to the level of your group!

Hey Kevin. At the moment, no. We're looking into that option, though!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
