Eberron Solo Adventure: The Saviour of Sharn

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Want to discover the incredible world of Eberron? You won't even need a DM...

5e Solo Gamebooks introduces The Saviour of Sharn, a level 4 solo adventure for 5e. This adventure is written in gamebook style (think Fighting Fantasy / Lone Wolf) but with 5e mechanics. Narrative entries guide you through the adventure and remove the need for a Dungeon Master. Custom combat sheets run monster tactics during combat, and battle maps for all possible encounters are included in a zip file.

This is the pdf version. For the Fantasy Grounds version, click here.

The numeric entries are also hyperlinked, so all you need to do is click and the pdf will automatically navigate you to the next entry, removing the need to scroll or enter a page number.

The story begins with you, the PC, deep in study in the Morgrave University Library. Then, a mysterious figure slips you a letter and disappears before you can discern their identity. Let the adventure begin...

PRAISE FOR "THE SAVIOUR OF SHARN"

I am not someone who is familiar with Eberron (Wayfinder's Guide is my first touchpoint) and this is a fantastic primer and an excellent solo adventure. As someone new to the setting, I deeply appreciated all of the Eberron-specific things popping up in context - really helped immerse me in this new world.

Alex Tey

This is a great introduction to the Eberron campaign setting. Lots of flavor of the world, as well as challenging encounters and an intriguing story.

Kristina Chun

Great way to learn a little about this incredible setting, while also having fun adventuring solo style. Anyone wanting to find out about Eberron needs to play this adventure!

Ben Wolfe

5e Solo Gamebooks has a line of gamebooks set in the Forgotten Realms, but with the appearance of the Eberron setting on Dungeon Master's Guild, the temptation to write an Eberron solo adventure could not be ignored. In all likelihood, this is just the first in a series of Eberron adventures.

Many thanks to a good friend and DM James Starrett aka Diamond J, whose Eberron campaign introduced me to the setting, and continues to increase my knowledge on the captivating realm of Eberron. Drazurak salutes you in the name of Vulkoor, almighty one!

Can anyone tell me if there are meant to be maps in this adventure?

There are battle maps included as a zip file. Once you have purchased the product, you will see the downloads in your DM's Guild library.

I'll admit to be skeptical about the solo adventure concept but I didn't have a group. I was thinking of running an Eberron campaign so decided to give this a try. It was fantastic. Well written and plenty of opportunities to roll dice. Combat was exciting. My only quibble is that it doesn't work well for casters who need a long rest to get their spells back (sorcerers, warlocks and clerics). I homebrewed a solution once I figured that out and it worked great. I highly recommend.

Thank you for your comment. I am gonna buy this article but would love to hear your homebrew solution first?
So I can play with a caster character too :)

Nothing major. I created a magic staff with extra spells and enough charges that made up for the fact that I would probably have no spell slots left by the time I got through to the end.

I've really enjoyed the entire solo game book series, but it was especially fun to discover the Eberron setting. I would love to see a sequel to The Saviour of Sharn!

Hello,
I am new to Fantasy Grounds, just bought it because of the steam sale. I wanted to try it and I also wanted to try your modules for quite a time. So I noticed the Fantasy Grounds module is more expensive and, way more important, I have to choose either or. If I buy the FG module I don't get the .pdf, is that right? Is there a way to buy a bundle with the .pdf and the FG content? I really would like to try and get into FG with this but especially looking at bigger bundles of yours I wouldn't like to rely on FG.
So, is there a way to purchase the .pdf and the FG module without buying and paying them both separately?

Thank you for your help and excuse the inconvenience!
Regards Robert

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
