Hello! Big, though recent, fan of the Codex series. Already bought the print version of both compilations, are there plans to do the same with these? How many and/or what other books have you considered for this one? Looking forward to these and gotta but this and book 12!!!

Thank you! The plan is to finish up the outer planes, all 16 of them, to bring the total Codex of the Infinite Planes entries to 26. The next one is the Olympian Glades of Arborea which I hope to have up in a few weeks. As far as a print compilation, I'm thinking through options. Do I wait until all of the outer planes are done? Divide them up by ideology (planes of chaos, law, and conflict)? Upper, lower, and middle? Don't know yet. I also have some appendices planned that will be released intermittently, such as incorporating Ravnica into the planar cosmology, details about the Far Realm, general planar campaign advice and information, etc.

Hmm, I was wondering why you chose Archeron for book 12. I would have thought you'd go to the next logical: The Nine Hells. Either that or stick to the Wheel and go to either Carceri or Pandemonium. So you've hit Chaotic Evil plane & Lawful with Evil leaning, next up is Chaotic Good with Arborea. I wont complain about good content though.

As for how to break it up... three books?
The Lawful: Celestia, Arcadia, Mechanus, Acheron, and Baator/9 hells.
The Chaotic: Arborea, Ysgard, Limbo, Pandemonium.
The Neutral: Bytopia, Elysium, Beastlands, Gehenna, Hades, Carceria, and the Outlands.

That way there would be a full spectrum in each book, you can talk about how each is similar and different based on those spectrums. THough nothing would stop you from going and doing all the good, all the Evil, and then the Neutral.

And if you include Ravnica why not a Codex on OTHER realms, no larger that the other books you've released: GreyHawk, Dark Sun, Ravnica, Eberron,...See more

Breaking it up the Outer Planes into the three books is pretty classic and should work pretty well, and gives a nice breakdown of evil, neutral, and good planes as well. For right now, the individual Codex entries are going alphabetical by plane name they're known as - Abyss, Acheron, Arborea, Arcadia, Beastlands, Bytopia, Carceri, Elysium, Gehenna, Hades, Limbo, Mechanus, Mount Celestia, Nine Hells, Pandemonium, and Ysgard. Nine Hells are technically Baator, but they're known more now as the Nine Hells so I kept it later in the list.

I would love to do a Codex entry for the campaign settings, but DMsGuild guidelines prohibit that outside of Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms, and Eberron (at least for now). If this were to change significantly in the future I can definitely envision doing an appendix entry for the Material Plane to cover the various campaign settings.

And because I can't actually use or directly reference Planescape material (because it's not an approved setting for the DMsGuild),...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
