DESTINY AWAITS THE COMING OF THE STORMREAVERS

A force of darkness and corruption seeps into the jungles of Chult, defiling the once eternal spirits that gave life to the land. Left unchecked, this vile power will extend beyond the jungle lands to pervade the entirety of the Realms.

Seeking to restore the Lost City of Mezro and its immortal protectors, a band of adventurers is bound by destiny to either restore the balance, or be consumed by their own dark fates.

Maze of Shadows a D&D Adventurers League adventure for character Levels 11-16, It is the sequel to Heart of the Wild and The Risen Mists, being the third and last in a series of adventures that expands upon one of the storylines first encountered in the Tomb of Annihilation™ hardcover.

This three-part adventure provides 8-10+ hours of play with an optional destiny point system that allows you to determine the adventure's outcome from a multitude of possible endings. It can be played on it's own, as part of a series, or as a follow up to the ToA campaign.

This adventure is also part of the Lost City of Mezro series of adventures. Included in this series is the Ruins of Mezro setting book, by Will Doyle.

Just purchased this and want to run it but as asked in previous discussion, I was wondering if there is anywhere to grab player versions of the maps. I want to use this in Fantasy Grounds and upload the maps, but I don't want to have the indicators on there and especially the secret doors and I don't want to have to remake the maps myself.

Any chance you could add them to the package with an update or post them somewhere?

Neat module. Reads well. Can't wait to run it.

(*When you update, make sure to correct Adrinyth's description on page 3 as it mistakenly lists Artus Cimber's description instead.)

In addition to the updates noted below (and requests for separate images of the maps like was included in the first two parts, and a "player version" of them is possible), the Couatl chase scene refers to "Shadow Demons" and a strength save attack condition, but later text calls them "shadow wraiths". Can you please update to include the correct stat block? Thanks!

The statblocks could use an edit.

The Shavolak statblock mostly refers to Bael, with one ability referring to Matago instead.

The Ukuni Assassin statblock makes references to the Thief.

Warlock of the Fiend refers to the Evoker.

I noticed an error with Map 2.5 (page 24). It lists the numbers 2-4 for the locations, which I'm pretty sure were meant to be areas 5-7. This wasn't intentional, right?

I will have a much more extensive review once my players finish this adventure. We had quite a few issues with the first third of the adventure that need to be addressed.

Is there any chance that the maps from the adventures will ever be included as standalone images without the notations on them, for use on digital tabletops like Roll20?

Is this like a proper maze? Can the characters get lost sort of thing? Are there NPCs to meet along the way?

It sounds cool but just wanted to get more of a feel for it before buying. Thanks!

The physical maze is just a part of the adventure. The "maze" title actually holds more of a story-centric meaning, especially when connected to the previous two adventures. It's definitely not a dungeon crawlish sort of mapped out maze, if that's what you're asking.

Can I just say I'm sad this only just came out. My group all hit tier 4, maybe we'll get a chance to play it with different characters.

I think there are a few things that need addressing:
1) The scroll of protection on page 8 is not typed
2) There is confusing notation with Nneka. Are they an ukuni assassin or should they use the statistics of Ghald from PotA? (if statistics come from PotA, then they should likely be included in the appendix)
3) Saja N'baza is killed in DDAL07-14. No direction is given to DMs on how to address this if their campaign has included the use of DDAL07-14.

Consider them addressed:
1) Fixed.
2) Also fixed - removed that notation - Nneka is a replacement for a formerly intended NPC and I didn't remove the text.
3) Unless the party fails to save Saja N'baza in 07-14, she reincarnates. I did, however add a sidebar addendum to correct the concern for everyone's campaigns.

Thank you, Eric!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
