Twenty-five spells built for scoundrels, rascals and rakes!

These spells will be useful in any campaign with thievery and trickery, both on land and at sea with spells like Captain on Deck and Urchin’s Hideaway. Balanced with an eye toward existing spells, these will slot easily into the spellbook of any bard or arcane trickster looking for a bit more blast, or any GM looking for something nasty up the pirate queen’s sleeve.

This spellbook includes spells of every level, skewed toward scalable damage at lower levels and utility.

Should "Silvered Tongue, Silver Blade" also go to Rangers? Paladins can smite to make their weapon bypass magic resistance, and Rangers as a class are most likely to need a silver weapon since their whole thing is "target a specific breed of monster"

That makes sense to me! When I do the next version of this document I'll update that too (and potentially add artificer to some of the spells). Thanks for the suggestion, and I hope any rangers at your table enjoy their silvered blades!

Question about the spell Siren's Call, pretty sure there's a typo in the spell just not sure what part(s) are wrong:
"At Higher Levels" section says it does extra damage for each level above 3rd level; one the spell doesn't mention damage, two the title of the spell says it's 6th level.

That was a carryover from Seltwind's Shot, not actually intended to be part of the Siren's Call spell. Thank you so much for catching the error, and I've uploaded a corrected PDF!

The pdf seems to still be wrong for the sirens call spell. Still says damage.and so on but doesn't have damage listed in the main description of the spell.

Thanks for letting me know! I've reworked the spell in the new download to clarify that it has immediate damage as well as per turn damage, but the primary effect—like maze—is intended to be the possibility of drowning. However, as siren's call is a lower level spell the spell save is lower (not set at 21 and a difficult ability for a high save) and it only does a comparatively small amount of damage versus other 6th level concentration spells it should be balanced at 6th level. That's now available to download in the v.1.4 PDF, and let me know if you still have trouble with it!

Ah, great question! The duration on that spell should be "Concentration, up to 8 hours" balanced against spells like suggestion. I'll make sure I update that in the next pass on the PDF.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
