Like the approaching footsteps of an old foe you could never quite defeat, echoes of the Last War resound through the streets of Sharn. If peace is to be more than a fleeting dream, the people of this shattered realm need heroes...

Designed for use with the Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron (prior to the November 2019 update), Eberron Archetypes: Heroes of the Five Nations presents new subraces, new subclasses, new feats, new spells and more for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons games set in the City of Towers and beyond.

NOW UPDATED: As another thank you to purchasers, the author has added 8 new subclasses, a new subrace, and other new content, in addition to the 12 more new spells, three more new feats, and new magic item section from the previous update! Download the revised version 1.3 now!

Specially designed for the neo-noir, magic-rich setting of Eberron, where adventurers come in all shapes and sizes, these character options build on this unique campaign world's themes while inspiring you to forge new stories of your own. More than just rules to help you create or advance characters, these new options come with full descriptions and setting material to understand their place in the world of your campaign. Player options in Eberron Archetypes: Heroes of the Five Nations include:

  • New subraces for the Shifter and Warforged races as presented in the  Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron.
  • New racial feats for changelings, kalashtar, shifters, warforged, and dwarves, as well as general feats for characters of all types.
  • Options to play psionic characters using feats, subclasses, and spells, without having to learn any new subsystems or variant rules.
  • More rules for playing the dinosaur-riding halflings of the Talenta Plains, including a new subclass as well as a subrace option and additional dinosaur mounts.
  • New subclasses for every class in the Player's Handbook, along with two new subclasses for the Artificer, all chosen with an eye towards campaigns set in Sharn, City of Towers and the larger continent of Khorvaire, for a total of 14 subclasses, including:
    • NEW: Wandslinger fighters and rogues;
    • NEW: Bone knights, necromancer paladins trained to command and create undead soldiers;
    • Barbarians mutated and enhanced by the abominations of the Last War;
    • Druids who gain unique powers from each of the 12 moons of Eberron;
    • Rangers who explore the world via elemental ships of the skies and seas;
    • Alchemical sorcerers drawing transmutation magic from within;
    • Prophetic warlocks who bargain to gain power and prescience from the rulers of the monstrous nation of Droaam;
    • Artificer detectives, and many more!
  • Over 40 60 new spells of particular use in the Eberron setting, including magic to spare innocent bystanders when battling on crowded city streets, craft elaborate magically-infused projects with greater proficiency, or help investigators bring their quarry back to justice alive.
  • New types of armor and weapons only found in Eberron, including Talenta boomerangs and exotic items from the distant continents of Xen'drik and Sarlona.
  • NEW: 13 magic items, about half of which are (or can be) used as warforged attachments!

At the Gold and Platirnum sales levels, the author will continue to add more content, and the price will increase accordingly with each update... but buying now gets you all that added content for the lower current price... Previous customers have already benefitted from buying early, getting 20 pages of new content for no additional cost!

Critical Role creator Matt Mercer called author Jeremy Forbing's Ravenloft Archetypes "Really grand content! Well thought out, well presented, and a fantastic supplement to any campaign... Highly recommended!" This product applies the same approach to this newly opened setting, tempered by years of experience crafting more DM's Guild content. Many of these options are revisions of existing materials, improved by community feedback and the experiences of thousands of players as well as playtesting at the author's table. No 5E Eberron campaign is complete without Eberron Archetypes: Heroes of the Five Nations!

With the update to the Artificer Unearthed Arcana, do you have any plans to update the Artificer subclasses to match?

Working on this now. It may take a bit, as I want to make sure I have a full handle on the Artificer's new features for balance, but I am working on it. Thanks for asking!

Maybe I have an older version but I don’t see the spell Zealous sanction on any class spell list. It looks like a cleric and/or paladin spell.

This should be a 2nd-level spell on the cleric's spell list. Thanks for catching that, will update in a future revision.

Hello, question about Preternatural Vigor: The description states you add your Dense Form extra die to death saves while raging, but your rage ends if you fall unconscious. Is the intent that the bonus be granted to death saves nonetheless?

Also, minor observation, the page numbering doesn’t lend itself to printing (all page numbers seem to be on the same corner).

The reference to raging is an error. You add the Dense Form die to all the listed saving throws, whether you are raging or not. An upcoming revision will clarify this.

I will also see what i can do about the page numbers.

Daniel, the new update has clarified this. I centered the page numbers too. Thanks for your feedback!

lots of interesting stuff in this. On the subject of feats though, I was hoping for some new ones sorely lacking in WotC's offerings like casterific versions of things like crossbow expert & versions of spell sniper that recognize not every caster is charisma based to make use of eldritch blast.

When I think of a caster version of Crossbow Expert, I'm afraid Spell Sniper is exactly what comes to mind. It seems like that feat is good for lots of spells besides eldritch blast, so what kind of feat would fulfill the need you describe?

Is it intentional that the 3rd level feature called shot of the Tomb Robber does not allow a saving throw? You could knock prone giants with that feature, without the giant having a chance to do something about it. There should be a limitiation, like the limits to the trip attack maneuver in the PHB.

Not requiring a saving throw is intentional, but the lack of limitations that would allow bowling over giants was not. I have just uploaded an updated PDF which rewrites the Signature Weapon feature and addresses your concern, so just re-download to get the new and improved version!

Minor Notes (these are just what I've seen from the preview content): For Truedive shifters, what is their spellcasting ability? (and usually it's presented as "you can cast X spell at-will with this trait") Also, Cleric Sub-classes Don't Get A Feature At Second Level That Isn't Channel Divinity. (I'm talking about "Vigilant Sense" btw)

The truedive shifter ability is modeled off existing language, so the way they present this kind of thing is not actually uniform across all races. Nevertheless, I have just uploaded an updated PDF which changes the truedive trait in question to better answer your observations, and have also rewritten the cleric subclass to remove and replace Vigilant Sense. Purchase the PDF and you will get the new and improved version!

Well, gee thanks! I didn't know about the language, it's just how i've always seen it written as, sorry. And yeah, definitely buying it now!

Almost every caster class gets the "amanuensis" cantrip, but it's literally never mentioned in the spell descriptions.

Caught an error: An old version of the Frontliner Warforged subrace somehow snuck back in which makes it practically identical to the Juggernaut subrace from Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron. While I am pleased to note that great minds were thinking alike, I have no desire to replicate content, so I will be uploading an update shortly.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
