The most classic and noble adventures start in the tavern.  However, some of the craziest and most embarrassing ones do too!  The Hungover Adventure Guide will help you turn a night the party can't remember, into a tale they'll never forget.

  • 25 content-packed pages.
  • 100+ hungover plot hooks.
  • A new custom Inebriation & Fortitude system, for tracking a character's drunkenness.
  • Magical items & feats for "career drunkards".
  • Inebriation scores and cultural notes on liquors, themed mixed drinks, and treats.
Note: "The Hungover Adventure Guide" contains no actual mixed drink recipes.  It'll only help your characters get smashed, you're on your own.

A few hiccups:

1. Your instructions do not mention the threshold for getting very drunk.

2. What about dwarves? or creatures with resistance to poison? Do they get bonuses?

3. You mention getting "+1 fatigue", when you are hungover. Did you mean exhaustion? Also, the disadvantage on initiative rolls would be redundant if you gain a level of exhaustion, since the first stage of exhaustion is disadvantage on ability checks, which Initiative rolls technically are.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'll get right on putting these things into an updated 1.01 version.

1) I neglected to include the threshold in the Very Drunk section, but it is included in the "Bust Out That Calculator!" info box. The Very Drunk threshold is 0.75 of the overall Fortitude score (therefore, halfway between Drunk and blackout). I'll make sure this is presented in more locations, and more clearly in the update!

2) I didn't want to treat specific races differently, because I felt these things could start multiplying too heavily with constitution and size bonuses. An especially frail dwarf shouldn't have a higher tolerance than an especially stout halfling, in my design vision. Though, this is only -my- design vision, and I invite DMs to make any in-house changes they like to the system. If you'd like to add racial benefits, I'd recommend flat scores like +2 and the like, similar to size modifiers.

3) OOPS! Yes, this should've been exhaustion!...See more

Probably should also include rules for drinking on an empty stomach vs. drinking while having something in your stomach.

This is definitely something I considered, but I was concerned about the system getting "too mathy" and cumbersome. As always, I encourage DMs to add house rules in any way they see fit. If I were to try to add "Alcohol Resistance" for food, I'd basically treat it like temporary HP (Temporary Fortitude in this case), that gets taken off the front end.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
