Eberron was born in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast launched a worldwide search for a new campaign setting.

Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron brings the eponymous campaign setting to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. This 175 page book gives you everything you need to create an Eberron story or character, exploring the core themes of the setting and the rules to implement them in fifth edition. It includes an overview of Khorvaire and the fantastic city of Sharn, along with a host of background ideas and story hooks.

Playtest material includes the unique races of Eberron, the mystical dragonmarks (including greater dragonmarks and aberrant dragonmarks), and new magic items; this is a living document, and this content will evolve and be updated in response to feedback.

Want to create and publish your own Eberron PDFs?

The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron can serve as your jumping off point to create your own monsters, adventure modules, and other tabletop content set within Eberron and put it up for sale on the Dungeon Masters Guild.

Will WotC update the product listing and Keith Baker's intro in the product to reflect that this is the final version, and not just playtest content anymore?

Is this version of the book going to be updated with the released product, that was finally printed by Wizards, or are they going to force us to purchase a different book? They are different titles overall but I feel if they don't it's like a stab for those who purchased thinking this was going to be the actual design of the product.

As far as I know, this PDF already was updated when RFTLW came out. Note that things that weren't in WGTE to begin with weren't and won't be added to it, other than the Artificer with the Alchemist subclass; things like the other 2 subclasses, the new Orc variant, the adventure, etc. are unique to RFTLW.

Does this book have any fluff that isn't in E:RFtLW?

I'm glad to see that the some of the races were updated, but please update the rest of them aswell..and if you're going to include the artificer - please include all of it..

I'm pretty sure all the races that received updates/changes in RFTLW were updated here as well... Is that not the case?

What, the actual, hell! Where are the rest of the artificer subclasses?

I'm sorry, I think the LEAST you could do would be to give us the full version of the Artificer. It's not like this is the SRD or something and you only want to give us 10 levels of the character.

This is a paid product. We paid money for this to proofread and basically test this out for you.

And now that the final version is out, you're telling me "haha screw you, buy it again if you want the artificer."

Glad I bought this before the changes came into effect. WOTC basically gutted all manner of fascinating aspects of this setting.

The updated version is honestly disappointing in many ways. Especially since you apparently didn't even proof-read.

On the "Replicable Items Table" for Artificer, it lists "Prosthetic Limb (detailed in Chapter 5)". As it turns out, the entire document mentions Prosthetic Limbs twice - once in said table, and once talking about how to start off a game. Chapter 5 does not mention Prosthetic Limbs at all.

Similarly, "Arcane Propulsion Arms" and "Ventilating Lungs" also say "detailed in chapter 5" but are NOT in fact included in the document.

It's almost like you just copy-pasted from another source. Oh wait. It was.

I am going to keep my non-updated copy and play with that. And use an alternative artificer. Very disappointed with the new book. Hopefully, I can finish reading the HC book this weekend.

It was updated, poor changeling, did you really have to cut Divergent Personality too? Expertise with a tool was too much? I also loved the lore of a changeling being so into a certain personality that it was almost separate from the changeling itself. Also REALLY WOTC REALLY? Only including ONE of the subclasses with Artificer? Are you kidding me? This needs to be updated to include all of the subclasses at the very least. This is an editable book unlike Last War, fix it.

Yea, not a good "fix" or addition or upgrade.

I also thought we'd be getting all the artificer subclass with this update.

is there any way you could NOT update this book to match the new book? all of the flavour was taken out of the eberron races leaving it feeling very milquetoast. I will be downloading this one last time and not updating my copy if this is being updated to match. because yeesh.

The Wayfinder's Guide, is on sale while Lat War is on the Horizon. Anyone looking at this who doesn't know already, don't buy this book! Rising from the Last War is going to have all of what is in here and a few more trinkets to play with. This is not worth a single penny.

Just buy Last War, it will save you time and money.

I disagree. Buy this and use it instead of the Hard cover.

Last War removes several key features that this book includes. Don't buy the Last War, buy this instead and build your own game from it.

Taylor, I think WGtE has already been updated earlier today to match the versions of stuff in RftLW.

Brett, I'd say there is one possible reason to buy WGtE instead of RftLW: if you're only interested in the character options. But even then, WGtE leaves out the 2 other artificer subclasses that appear in RftLW, and if you're buying digitally, you may as well buy the character options a la carte from D&D Beyond.

Is there any 'fluff' in this book that isn't in RftLW?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
