Hi,

This book seems fairly setting agnostic from what I can tell? Would you say it might be something that would mesh well with the Eberron setting its fey plane of Thelanis? Thanks.

Hi there!

I don't really know anything about Eberron's fey plane, so I can't speak to that, but I can say that this is entirely setting agnostic. I made it so that it could be run as an alternative to the sort of cannon fey courts out there for those looking for something a little more fairy tale, or could just be mashed together with something existing.

"Lore and history of the Feywild"

Is this official lore or your own creation? Just wondering.

Hi There!
Although there are nods towards some of the official lore, the content in this is my own creation. If you aren't interested in non-canon lore, that is mostly contained in a section with some alternative or additional archfey and only makes up like 1/6 of the book. So there's lots of other monsters, items and random encounters that will fit in just fine alongside the canon lore.

This is one of the best - if not THE best - DM resources for the Feywild. So much material on The Fey courts and the lands of the Fey. Information on how the fey behave, the courts and creatures is all there. Very cool information on Fey crafting. Wow. Fey are the main story motivators in my campaign. Wars have swept across the land of the material plane from time to time but they always coincide with the changing of the fey seasons. Players have yet to find that out. This product is perfect for adding depth and color to any fey encounter.

I can't say enough good things about this product. My gaming group is going through "Corruption in Kryptgarden (DDEP1-1)" with one subplot taking them to the Feywild. Never having set any adventure there, I bought this guide to beef up my game.

I'm very pleased with my decision. The PDF proved to be more than helpful. The info presented here is inspiring, and the writing is imaginative and sparkling, to say the least. I've taken a few major Fey and incorporated them as NPCs in my game. For example, here's a handout I shared on our VTT game in which Black Agatha, the Hag of Murkmidden, delivers her gambit.

--

“OK, gather around all of you … Aunt Agatha’s got a story to tell.”

“You’ve heard of sirens, right? Betcha have. Drop-dead gorgeous women — half fish below the waist — with voices to die for. Literally. They live by the sea, seducing mariners with their songs. We have a number of them here in the Feywild.”

Hiya, I was wondering why there doesn't seem to be any mention of Titania, the Queen of Air and Darkness, or other noteworthy fey in this sourcebook. Is this for more of a homebrew Feywild?

Hi Callum,
When I was developing the content for the book, for the most part, I stayed away from any references to the established Forgotten Realms lore about the Feywild and instead provided new Fey and Archfey. The book contains maps and resources if you want to use the content as a full alternative to the Forgotten Realms Feywild, but in campaigns where my players had a strong connection to the Realms lore, I've just mashed both sets of content together to great effect.

I really love this book. I've created my own homebrew feywild to set an adventure in, and this book has given me a fantastic base to work with. A lot of the lore, races and thee encounter table are so incredibly useful.

I do have one question though, I was wondering if there was a stat block or anything that could be used for Faen, the Dread Wolf? I know it says he is 'immortal' but I still want to have something in front of me for if a PC decides to stupidly sling a spell at it. If anybody has any ideas, let me know!

Thanks Brooke! I'm so glad it's been useful to you. Writing the encounters were the most fun I've ever had writing.

In my own home game one of the characters backstories involved Faen taking her son and possessing him (her son died as a result). When the group finally encountered Faen in the Feywild he was possessing another child and I did put together some stats for someone who was possessed by Faen. It involved the child being superhumanly strong and fast, but his shadow was shaped like a wolf and the shadow made it's own XXX, fear and pounce attacks as legendary actions. I think I also have a half finished draft I did for Faen's stats as well. If you want to see those stats I put together I'd be happy to share them with you. I wish that there were. But from my understanding, for the time being, the DM's Guild isn't opening many new products up for PoD. We'll all have to suffer through with digital copies and the best that Staples print center can provide. Haha.

Hi Charles,
Unfortunately it is and probably will be for the foreseeable future as the DMs Guild has discontinued making new titles available for POD. However, I know my local library offers POD services and there are a number of print shops I have worked with before that do custom book bindings for relatively cheap.

what is the target level for this adventure?

Hi Mark,
It's more of a source book than an adventure, so there isn't a target level. That being said, the random encounters in the guide, though primarily narrative driven, are suitable for levels 2 through 6 depending (though some adjustment of monster numbers might be required for the high end of that spectrum) and the monsters provided cover a reasonably wide CR range.

This is a really great product that I would highly recommend. The Lore is very interesting, the random encounters and mechanics presented are very interesting and it is well worth the price. The Map alone makes it worthwhile.
I plan to use it in 2 upcoming campaigns, one where they drop in for a while and another hexcrawl campaign entirely set in the feywild and I plan to use this product in full.

Well worth a buy, one of the best Feywild based products I have seen online.

Very very nice product! Haven't dug in yet, but I love the art and the presentation.

Just a note, the map scale seems a bit... small. As presented the Feywild is 25000-30000 sq.miles. Around the size of Lithuania. Is that intentional?
I was thinking to scale up by a factor of 10, to make the Feywild comparable to Europe in size but I was wondering if there was a design reason for the map size; like lore from the DMG saying the Feywild is not too big or something.

Thank you for the compliment on the art and presentation. :)

So there is no specific canon lore that I've ever seen referencing the size the Feywild should be (though I could be ignorant of something). There are two reasons I made it the size I did in the book. First was the idea that the Feywild could, at the DM's discretion, be overlaid across the primaterial plane. So if you have a portal in the north and a portal in the south, you could, if you were willing to risk the Feywild's crazy time distortions, travel through the Feywild to cover large distances on the primaterial plane. I use this in my home game. I have three portals around the world which have a roughly equivalent position in the Feywild. When the players learned about this, it became super tempting to be able to cut 3-6 weeks off their travel time if they're willing to risk a 7 day trek through the Feywild. Sometimes it works out for them and sometimes they come back and 2 years have passed (there's some optional time distortion rules...See more

Thank you and no problem with the answer. It was not an essay, it was a clear answer. I don't necessarily agree with the decision but it is clear to understand what led to it. As I said, it's easy to make the Feywild much larger in my campaign and just add my personal touch there.
Although the idea of "Feywalk" (similar to Shadow walk) to cut time by traveling through Feywild is very interesting and has me torn about whether to go for a large Feywild or small. If the reasons for the scale are not already in the very nice book, may I suggest adding them in an addendum at some point?

The next one is likely a couple months away and will be fleshing out the Far Realm. it will come with the same mix of lore, monsters, subclasses, etc. that I put together in Gimble's Guide to the Feywild. I'm just getting into playtesting right now, but I'm posting bits of the art up on Twitter as it's completed. You can track me down on there @davidmarkiwsky if you want the sneak peaks as it comes together.

You sir, just gained a follower ;-) Ivyron was very good and I already have an idea. Bare with me here.... I started a group with the Lost Tales of Myth Drannor (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/247140/Lost-Tales-of-Myth-Drannor?term=lost+tales&test_epoch=0). They have completed it up to the Weirding Vats portion (lvl 3), which leaves awhile until they can hit the next section (lvl 9 I believe). To kill time, I was going to work in The Edge of Dreams (Can't find a link here, I have a hardcopy - it's a mystery type deal where someone is trying to get the fey and humans into it by framing both sides). That should get them to lvl 6-8, at which point I can plant the seed (see what I did there) for the Ivyron one-shot. After they get the Gallia Seed, someone manages to steal it to finish the job (all I thought when I saw the description was that'd be a damn good way to take out a town). The party will have to chase them into the feywild (using this product to craft something spectacular). You sir are fantastic,...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
