I have continued working on maps since my last publication, "Hand Drawn City Maps", and has now managed to gather together five new maps.

In this publication you will find a short summary over the different maps, detailing things like estimated population, estimated sieze and a short descriptor describing what the different villages/cities etc. are producing or otherwise just what I thought of when creating the maps.

The maps are predominately created for my own campaigns and therefore the cities in the document have a name, but you are naturally free to employ any name that you want. Here below is included the short descriptions of the different cities etc. to explain what it is you're getting.

  1. Grey Hold: A small township built on a Peninsula on the west cost of a larger continent. It is relatively new and something that a group of player characters could feasibly be gifted if they perform deeds for a kingdom that are truly important. Being rather newly built there aren’t many people who live here yet, only a few hundred, with more and more coming slowly. Surrounding the keep or township there’s a slowly growing farming community which will then be able to provide the keep with food and eventually make it self-sufficient. Or at least to some degree. There’s a harbour as well, to allow for ship transport of goods and passengers.
    Size: Only about (700*400)m/(0,435*0,25)miles (inside the walls)

  2. Leilon: A central trading town, it lays somewhere in between two or three larger town and has most of the trade between those cities go through it, which leads to it being a quite well of city with all kinds of wares on its markets, it’s a very commercial town, crime is not tolerated, and travellers tend to find a nice selection of inns here. In this trading city there are around 4 000 to 5 000 people living at any given time, most of the time however, the population is much larger, due to all the travellers and merchants that come through the city.
    Size: About (3*1,5)km/(1,86*0,93)miles North-South/West-East. 

  3. Sildramar: A wood elven settlement that lies in a slightly more northernly location, the “city” is mostly quite securely nestled amongst the trees to provide cover against spying eyes from the sky, there are a few more “normal” buildings that need to be constructed that way out of non-flammable materials, but they still blend in very well and it is not a city that stands out. It’s also quite likely that travellers ould find themselves at the heart of the city before realizing there’s a city around them… provided that they would in fact get that far without being halted by elves. The population is difficult to pin down.  ut the city can comfortable fit up towards 7 000 elves, especially because it’s easy to build new homes in the forest and trees which surrounds the city location.
    Size: Stretching around (5*4)km/(3,11*2,49)miles although it is difficult to say exactly where the city ends and the forest begins. 

  4. Marish: This is a small city that lays along an important trading route leading northward towards a fort. The city survives on fishing, lumber from the nearby forest and on the trade that passes through it. Despite the amount of trade and lumber that the city provides, there’s not that many people who live in this city, counting in at a modest 2 000 or fewer people. Without the trade from passing caravans there’s a risk that this town would seize to exist.
    Size: The town is around (3*2)km/(1,86*1,24)miles in size, with the addition of a few blocks outside and some fishing huts

  5. Qualindo: A high elven town that lays towards the southern part of a temperate continent. The city is constructed around a central tree which is of special importance to the elves living there (think Lothlorien from “The Fellowship of the Ring” – J.R.R. Tolkien). The city has quite a few central buildings like libraries, magical towers and other central bureaucratic buildings. Most of the city is created around the cities residing inside the central ring of the city. With a few buildings outside the protection of the moat. Things like lumbers and hunters and the like. The city is difficult to find, through the  nowledge of elven wood lore and magical illusions coming from the magical towers. This city has around 5 000 – 6 000 elves and a few other races living in it, though this does not count the people who live ever so slightly outside in the forest that surrounds the city.
    Size: Difficult to say where it starts and where it ends due to the forest which clings to it, but around (4*4)km/(2,49*2,49)miles in area.

The maps are also available in to preview, so that you are aware of what you're getting before purcahse.

I hope you find the maps interesting and evocative, there are two elven maps included in this collection, these two remarkably more "messy" than the others, being that they lay inside a forest, I am unsure how other people feel about this kind of map and would therefore very much like feedback on said thing.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
