An unusual merchant is paying well for bodyguards to accompany her on a “short journey across long distances.” The coin is good, but something about her offer seems unusual. Where does this offer of employment by the merchant of Jade Waters Guild lead?

Welcome to Jade Waters Job, an adventure in the Tales of the Infinite Planes series! In this scenario, characters travel to the City of Glass on the Plane of Water in the employ of a marid merchant, but find they must track down missing goods once they arrive. The adventure is designed for a group of 2nd-level characters, but it can easily be adapted for any Tier 1 party.

A copy of Codex of the Infinite Planes is suggested to help add background to the plane and the City of Glass, but it is not required to run the adventure. In addition, the default hook for the adventure involves the World Serpent Inn, a sprawling tavern occupying its own plane of existence. More details can be found in Infinite Doors of the World Serpent, including using the World Serpent Inn as a group patron. Both of these products can be found on the DMsGuild.

Excellent product! Spoilers ahead...










I will say though that I nerfed the Viper Tree to give my players a chance. To keep it resembling the Viper Tree in the "Planescape - Planes of Chaos" boxed set, I allowed fire-based attacks to do double damage while the tree had advantage and/or resistance against all other damage types. An alternative would be for the viper tree to have a disadvantage against fire but receive normal damage.

We had a lot of fun with the viper vines and the introduction to the City of Glass is fantastic! Next, I am going to incorporate some of the "Encounters in the Plane of Water!"

Thank you! My passion has always been in adventure scenarios, and I've got a whole pile in the backlog waiting to get released. I'm hoping to get a regular cadence before moving onto the Outer Planes with Codex Vol 11 Infinite Layers of the Abyss. Next Tales of the Infinite Planes should be TLSP1-02 Escape from Brimstone Kennel!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
