Scourge of the Medusa Curse!

Special Acknowledgments: M.T. Black – for creating the opportunity to flex our creative muscles. This product would never have happened without your support and drive, thank you.

Scourge of the Medusa Curse is a Dungeons & Dragons 5e adventure designed to be completed in about 4 hours of play.

Many generations ago, there was a family of stoneworkers; the Mason family. Their family business was failing in recent years, and, due to the Master Stoneworker’s love for the dwarven spirits, the quality of their stonework was diminishing.

To rescue her father, Jorlana Mason went out in search for some way to help him regain the skill and passion he once had. She found an answer through prayer, though it was not deity she had hoped for. The god, known as Sseth, spoke to her, offering her that of which she asked. However, in exchange for this great gift, Jorlana must, after giving birth to her future firstborn, submit herself to Sseth, receiving from him the curse of the medusa.

Now, generations later, the latest new mother of the Mason family has gone missing, leaving behind her newborn son.

Can your heroic adventurers seek out and rescue the new mother from the grooming grasps of the Mason Medusa before she can be cursed with the Scourge of the Medusa Curse?

Whilst this adventure is primarily a dungeon crawl, with an immersive and challenging climax, it is just as equally designed around the story to help immerse your players into the game. The map (as shown below) helps you, the Dungeon Master, to drive the scenes as our heroes explore the Aisle of the Serpent and battle the Mason Medusa in the Garden of Stone.

To run this adventure, you need the following:
  •  The Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition Player’s Handbook (PHB),
  •  The Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition Monster Manual (MM),
  •  The content supplied within this adventure.

Featured Adventure:

Tremors in the Sand
Tremors have been heard and felt in the hot sands of a desolate and dangerous desert.  A gifted mystic named Ilishara has received a vision from the dark powers to which she dedicates herself.  This vision has beckoned her to summon the most destructive creature known to exist on this plane; the tarrasque. The beast lies beneath the sands of the desert, as Ilishara attempts to awaken the tarrasque from a small desert ridden temple with the aide of a tribe of Yuan-ti.

This adventure is very easy to run for a DM with any amount of experience (I'd say it would probably even be playable to pick up and play as you go, though it is always best to do a full read first!). The module is pretty linear which isn't a bad thing [...]

The Good This is a straightforward linear quest. Go kill a medusa, and stay on the magical path. New DMs, or DMs who have trouble improvising, will really benefit from the assistance the author gives them. Skill checks are laid out in high detail, mech [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
