Elven Tower presents stock maps of the Forgotten Realms. (Commercial License Included)

This is a digitally hand-drawn map of The Yawning Portal.  It is illustrated in the style of a local cartographer, excellent to be a prop given to players. It comes in 2 versions, a standard map version, and version with no background for VTTs environments.

The Illustration has a resolution of 4900 × 3500 px, 300 dpi. Perfect to be printed to crisp quality.

this is a low-quality version of the map:

These maps include a commercial license, as such, you can add them to your DM's Guild products. Make your modules and adventures stand out with awesome Forgotten Realm maps. Most people see illustrations first, a good, evocative map is a great resource for attracting an audience.

You may not use this image as a selling point or include these illustrations in another stock art collection, other specific actions not admissible are described in the attached copyright PDF document.

I want to print this an have it laminated for game night, but when I upload the document to the printing company they say its the wrong size and the resolution is only 70 DPI, not 300? What is the best size to print it on for miniatures and why is it saying the resolution is too low?

Hi, the file resolution is 70 DPI like you mentioned but that is only a file marker. The map is made to 140 pixels per square to be usable in online VTTs like Roll20. You can blow it up to print it and it will look fine, but a little pixelated.

Each print house has different specs but if you can instruct them to blow it up to measure 16.3x11.6 inches it will work with the usual D&D minis.

Will you ever draw the upstairs?

This map is amazing but it is a pity that there aren't the other floors.

I understand. Unfortunately there was no source material I could find where those areas were shown. Have you ever seen a map of that?

Does this include the upstairs?

It does not. It includes only the first floor as seen in the preview.

Unfortunately, the second point of Section of the license agreement means that this map can not be used in FG modules for sale on the DMsGuild (since the FG module can be pulled apart and the image file accessed as a stand-alone file). Are you aware of this and is it something you are willing to consider changing?

License has been updated for the correct use of these illustrations in FG modules. Thanks for the heads up.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
