Kid Friendly Character Sheet

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Built specifically with young heroes in mind!

These character sheets have been made to make things as simple to understand and as clear as possible for young players. Ability bonuses have been simplified, and each skill comes with a little explanation for what it can do. For added ease of use there is also a version with each section broken down by colour so you can simply tell your young gamers to "Look in the purple box" when they need to check their skills.

Included

  • Form Fillable Character Sheets (Letter and A4)
  • Colour Coded Form Fillable Character Sheets (Letter and A4)
  • Form Fillable Spells Sheets (A4, 2 Options)
  • Basic Inventory Sheet (A4)

These sheets were created as part of the adventure An Ogre and His Cake, which you can download here. All proceeds for sales will go to benefit Extra Life.

No matter what computer I use to print out the sheets, they come out all black.

This sheet has been great for my players with ADHD who get overwhelmed with everything in the regular sheets

Hi,
Would it be easy to translate to other languages (Portuguese, for instance)?

Thank you!

Hi! I love these - mostly. I did run into an issue with the money section of the form fillable inventory sheet, which I see others have also reported. All 5 coin fields are linked; typing in any one fills or replaces all 5.

I wish I knew what I was doing enough to help you edit the character sheets for the new tashas stuff. Interested to see any new options for sidekicks and stuff.

These sheets work pretty well for kids. One problem I've encountered is when trying to modify the coin entries on the fillable inventory sheet - any entry (CP, SP, GP, etc) overwrites all coin entries with the same value.

Thanks for making these. My daughters and their friends have urged me to run D&D for them since they saw Stranger Things (they didn't have to twist my arm very hard). These helped a lot.

Can someone help me understand what the "Save" box is under each ability? I imagine ability modifiers go in the "Bonus" box, but it's not clear where the ability scores should go. Thanks for any clarification.

Hey Miles,

I chose not to include a space for the ability modifiers on these as (from a kids point of view) it would be confusing, somewhat irrelevant extra numbers. All they need to know is the bonus. The "Save" section is where to mark in your saving throw bonus

Love these. They're perfect for getting my 8 year old niece started in D&D. My only complaint is the misspelling of "Journal" on the Inventory page. A minor nitpick, but it still bugs me.

These are fantastic - I got them in An Ogre and his Cake (which I have yet to use, but will review after I do). I am using them with the group I am running for my daughter (6), my niece (5), and my nephew (8). They have made it easy for them to reference and understand, which makes my life easier and their game more fun. Thank you so much!

First, let me say thanks for this. I run a summer school group for middle school kids and these help me dive into the action.

One tech question I had however is with regards to typing in spell info. I have merged the main page, inventory page, and spell pages into one pdf for ease of printing (allowing me to print back to back quickly) As I put info on the first spell page, the spell boxes on page two are automatically filled in with the same info. So, if I put Ray of Frost in the first spell box, it also appears in the first box on the following page. Any ideas on how I can avoid this?

This also happens with the money. If I put in 10 in the GP box, all of the boxes simultaneously fill in as well.

Thanks in advance for any fixes.

It also cuts off edges on the character sheets if printed on the right size paper.

I also find myself running out of room constantly when using form-fillable as the text does not automatically resize to fit the text box I would also like to be able to choose a different font. if there is a way to achieve any of this please let be know i really do love how this is setup especially the spell sheet as it means in theory i don't have to go searching through the PHB for spell descriptions but that only works if it all fits in the text box. Please help! I have printed everything out in black and white and am filling them out with pencil but as my hand writing can best be described as large and crooked at best without lines to serve as a guide, I am still unable to fit as much info as i want onto the page. Thank you.

Hi,

The text does auto scale. You will need to use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. People using non-Adobe PDF readers or working on Mac often have problems. This should solve any issues you're having.

All the best

Hi! I’m trying to print from my iPhone and the entire background is black. Is that an apple issue as well?

These are super awesome! I've used them to make my characters this afternoon for the game I'm playing with some children I work with at school. The fact you could easily edit them with Acrobat reader was so useful! Thanks!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
