Just bought it, and read it. It's well done and nice read. I just realized that the 3 parts are not all tier 1 but rather to be ran not in a row but at each tier. Any suggestions for compatible adventures that fill in between these adventures? Especially between tier 1 and tier 2 modules?

Hey there! The level banding is entirely intentional, as it offers players a gap and a chance to gear up or travel before they return to Mulmaster since chronologically, each adventure in the series is several months apart.

Any adventure that takes place in the Moonsea region post-Mulmaster Undone would fit. I also highly recommend Alan Patrick's Saga of the Worm for when your players hit Tier 2!

There are some, what I believe to be inconsistencies, in this module, that could be addressed in a revision release.
1) Page 11, Part 3, Area D, in the "Read this" box, paragraph 2: the text states "Standing in the center of the circle is a woman". Later, on the same page, in the Tactics section, paragraph 3: the text states "she will remain on the platform (at the position marked 'F' on Map 3)". These are two distinctly different positions on the map.
2) Page 11, Part 3, Area D, Tactics section, paragraph 2: the text states that Fenaria has access to the Contingency and Resilient Sphere spells, but these two spells are not in Fenaria's stat block listed on page 18.
3) Page 12, Part 3, Area D, Development section, paragraph 4: the text states that Fenaria's Contingency spell triggers "globe of force". This might be confused with the "Globe of Invulnerability" that is listed in her stat block (page 18), yet Resilient Sphere is not in the stat block....See more

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for reaching out about these things.

To address your questions:

1) The boxed text is a cut scene, after which she moves to a better position before the characters take their actions.

2, 3, 4, 5) There are several elements that are not reflected in her stat block because they are story elements and supersede any existing stat lines. Understandably, this can get confusing if you're following the Abjurer stat block to the letter. That is why they are specifically called out in the DM only portions of the text, with clear instructions for adjudication.

If it makes things easier for you, you can simply think of her as having pre-cast Contingency and Resilient Sphere ahead of time (which is what burns those specific spell slots at those levels and makes them unavailable), and that she always has a slot reserved for Dimension Door (because what self-respecting, high enough leveled wizard doesn't prep a movement spell?). The slots...See more

I recently got the idea of doing a run of this with an all-Plasmoid party. More ooze, more fun.

This mod is one of my favorites, and I cannot wait to run parts 2 and 3. If my googling is correct, RPG Day SG 2019 was last May. Did parts 2 and 3 debut then? Is there a date for when Parts 2 and 3 will be available on DMs Guild?

Hey there! We're currently working on Part 2 and it should hopefully debut sometime end of the year. Part 3 is also in the works, and with any luck should be available after RPG Day 2020! :)

Played this module in an AL session. Feels like an old school dungeon crawl that took around 3 hours. We were a party of 5 first level characters with 3 new players but despite that all characters were quite well optimised. None of us built first level munchkins or cheesed nor did we have any rubbish PCs.

Excluding the boss, the encounters seemed supremely easy or we were very lucky. Throughout the entire 3 hours and up till the point where we confronted the final boss, our DM only managed to land 1 successful attack which dealt 7 damage. We barely spent any resources; 1 healing potion, 1 first-level spell slot for hex, 1 net. A certain obstacle encounter can be bypassed RAW (cheesed) altogether without rolling if advanced movement rules were used.

We began the main adventure by setting off to rescue some thralls. We pursued them shortly after they were taken but despite blitzing through the dungeon without a short or long rest, their fate was not affected by our speed (we were moving...See more

I'm not sure if it was revised or anything, but for the party you described, you were "weak", and the BBEG should only have had access to 1st and 2nd level spells. The module does tune down for lower levels!!

Tentatively we're aiming for Part 2 and 3 to be T2 adventures.

We're updating the module with a new cover artwork that is more polished, a full color map pack of key locations that you can print out for use at the table or on a virtual tabletop environment, and including a cheat sheet for DMs that will help smoothen encounters.

Look out for Update 1.2, coming real soon. :)

Enjoyed the module. But agree with previous comments. Season 8 changes may need some further looking into on this one. God help you if the GM's dice are hot.

I ran this mod as the DM a few weeks back. I personally had a lot of fun and the players did too. Needed to re-balance the encounters a bit since the action economy was pretty unbalanced and there were some encounters that could've ended really bad if I didn't step in.

Voicing other people's concerns, lack of gold reward in Season 8 and with weapon degeneration could make this extremely hard on T1 players.

This module would've been better at tier 2... the action economy is grossly unbalanced, more tweaking please for season 8.

With season 8, the lack of gold reward and weapon degeneration it can become nigh unplayable for t1 melee characters, the boss at the end is just stupid.

Did not enjoy at all.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
