Lizardfolk Subraces

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Lizardfolk Subraces is a collection of six subraces that I have created for the Lizardfolk race from Volo's Guide to Monsters.

The Subraces included are based off of real world lizards, specifically the Gecko, Monitor Chameleon, Frilled, Gila Monster, and Horned Lizard.

This product includes an explanation of which abilities to use from the core Lizardfolk from ‘Volo’s Guide to Monsters,’ but it does not include the description of those abilities.  ‘Volo’s Guide to Monsters’ is required in order to make full use of these subraces.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 1.1 - A slight edit where I did not fully explain how to apply your ability score modifiers.  It should be +2 Con from the core stats, and then a increase in another stat based upon the subrace.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revised Edition!

The Revised edition has had various small updates to the wording and explanation of the product and how to use it, as well as a visual overhaul, including a suite of new art by Adela Quiles!

In addition the cost is changing from pay what you want, to a flat rate, which is staying uniform with the price that was listed as what I would like for the product if you did pay.

I see in the document itself you have bearded lizardfolk listed, is that a taste of things to come?

Thanks for letting me know I need to update it to remove the mention of bearded lizardfolk. They were origionally going to be included but after doing a bunch of research I just couldnt find anything overly unique about them to make a bearded subrace compelling enough to build. Sorry to say.

I was kind of wondering that myself as bearded dragons and frilled dragons are pretty similar ecologically. I assume the stats would be pretty interchangable.

Honestly, you could just swap the names around and it would work. I tried to keep these 'grounded' as it were to the real world equivalents, so I didnt want to go way into left field to make a beardie with unique abilities that arent realistic.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
