Player Maps for Castle Ravenloft, with working pins from the Fantasy Grounds CoS module!!

Getting ready to run Castle Ravenloft for your players using the Fantasy Grounds virtual table-top program? Are the isometric maps originally included in the adventure an issue?

You're in luck!

To give back to the community that has been so awesome and accepting of my other content (and because I love the Ravenloft setting so much), I've put together this module as PWYW!

This Fantasy Grounds module contains edited player maps (provided to the community by Pigonthewing), and incorporates all of the pins found in the Fantasy Grounds Curse of Strahd 5e module included right on the maps, making Castle Ravenloft easier to run for DMs!

To use this module, I would encourage you to purchase the 5th Edition Curse of Strahd module for Fantasy Grounds. Once you own it, make sure it is loaded and all of the pins included in that module will be active on these new maps! I've also included pins linking these new player maps back to the original isometric maps for easy reference.

Note: These maps have been optimized for use in Fantasy Grounds. However, I've also included a .zip file of the original high-resolution maps for you to use outside of the Fantasy Grounds program.

Does anyone know the dimensions for the map gridwise? If I wanted to use it on Roll20 with a grid or something what would be the best way to get a grid on this?

Does this map pack include maps for Tsolenka Pass?

It does not. Strictly Ravenloft Castle. Personally, when I ran Tsolenka Pass, I just used the included map from the supplement - wasn't ideal but worked well enough.

I've compared this to the maps in the module to help me get a sense of how to scale them in Roll20. I noticed that the 3rd floor (map 5) seems to be missing the south parapet extension connecting it to the walls of the Keep, and beneath which is one of the courtyard gates.

I had the same issue. If I download the file or the file and try to open with Windows 10, I get the following message:

"Windows cannot open the folder. The Compressed (zipped) Folder: 'C:Usersetcetcetc' is invalid."

However, when I downloaded WinRar and opened the .ZIP files, it worked. So, try WinRAR!

Thank you for commenting! I archive everything into a .zip folder with WinRAR, so maybe it is possible that it is required to unzip them as well.

Tried WinRar as well, says it's empty

You are unzipping the .ZIP files, correct? If you do not use the Fantasy Grounds program, you do not need the .MOD file.

If you are trying to use the .MOD file in fantasy grounds, just put it in your fantasyground/modules folder (dont try to unzip it).

Currently 138 people have purchased this module (pwyw). I'm certain the .zip files are not empty.

If you only want the maps, download the file called (download #2of3).

Hi Patrick,
I just downloaded both the original maps and the FG maps, both zipped files contain maps. What program are you using (I'm using winrar)?

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
